The staircase in Villa Utsikten is literally and visually a new centerpiece in the house.
Before the renovation, the main staircase was divided in two different places. The idea to rebuild and concentrate it to one unified and thoughtful position, did not only make the floor plans much more efficient it also created a totally different movement through the three floor levels; a journey through out the house, creating a rich and multifaceted experience.
Beside some few major improvements during a recent and careful renovation, we aimed to reestablish the original qualities of the house that were lost due to different modernizations over the years. This included the use of typical materials and elements such as oak parquet, limestone, hand fitted interior wall cladding and built in furniture. In parts, new detailing were also added. This is particularly prominent in how the panoramic views have been framed.
Villa Utsikten is a distinct and elegant brick house from the 1960s. It lies nestled into a coast side slope, with three consecutive floors following the steep downwards.
