In May, thanks to Design For Change Singapore, our team got the opportunity to speak to Sec 1 students from Tanjong Katong Secondary School. During this virtual engagement, we shared with the students the cause of the food waste problem in Singapore as well as the benefits of composting. We also highlighted ways in which these students can help, swipe next to learn what they are about.

Design For Change Singapore works towards empowering every child to shape society for a better tomorrow. (www.dfcsingapore.com) Through their programs, students are empowered to think, voice, and act to embrace challenges in society and work towards a desirable and sustainable future.

Our team conducted our very first workshop for the students at Stamford Primary School in May. 🥳 The students learnt about the food waste issues faced in Singapore, Earthworms and Black Soldier Fly Larvae as composters, and participated in interactive activities such as building their own composting kit.

We were heartened to receive great feedback from the Science HOD of Stamford Primary School, "Our students enjoyed the session! They found it easy to understand and the hands-on fun. Some of the students were very interested to continue working on composting."

We are pleased to share that our project is one of the awardees of SG Eco Fund's first grant call! We are very excited to embark on this journey to reduce food waste in Singapore and we hope you will join us for the ride!
