Pretty ey? This awesome-looking is just for sharing here and not for sale. In fact, we don’t usually put on our shelves in general, cos they are NOT for the faint-hearted and definitely not for newbie plantees. In fact, I’ve lost count how many calatheas have RIPed, despite our TLC and very best intentions. 😭

Saw this particular pot looking strong💪and happy at the nursery in October (then again, don’t they all do?? 😂) and decided to .

I’m happy that it’s happy so far. Pushed out four ‘cigars’ recently and they have all begun to unfurl this week (pic #3 the lighter green ones!).

However, when it comes to calatheas, I’m convinced we are living on the edge. Really not sure when my luck will run out. Morale of the story: 1. Let’s and 2. Dont be afraid to try! 💚🪴🧡

🧡Stunning, aren’t they? - The nurseries tend to up the price of these beauties during LNY so we snagged them early to keep our prices affordable. Hey, they look perfect for X’mas too, don’t you think?

What’s more, they will last way after the holiday season🎄🧧, even without special care, cos Aglaonemas are known for being easy-going and fuss-free (🙋‍♀️ we’ve tried & tested!👍)

These few babies have grown well in our 🏡home and corridor for at least 4 weeks now, so they’ve stabilised and are ready for yours.🌿

Pro Tips:
☀️ To maintain their stunning coolers & patterns, place them in a spot with bright indirect light (no direct afternoon sun as that will scorch their leaves!). p/s If u ever land yourself with greener or non-variegated varieties, those can tolerate less light.

💧As their roots are thick & fleshy (i.e. store water), they don’t like to be soaked in water all the time. It’s advisable to water only when the pot feels light. When in doubt, just hold it off for another day or two.

Plants make people smile, so keep growing!! ❤️🪴💚 .

We did our first ‘roadshow’ today (!) at the afternoon high tea event organised by the Radin Mas Women’s Executive Committee (WEC), in celebration of . Thanks, WEC, for inviting us!

Had lots of fun sharing & exchanging planting experiences with fellow ladies in our ’hood. Also delighted to offer some first time plant moms a taste of plant parenthood🪴. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who dropped by to chit chat!

Finally met my MP Mr Melvin Yong 杨益财(cos I’m always not home when he does house visits🏡). Thanks for dropping by and listening to the stories of our craft!

🎉Yay. This batch of Ming Aralia Variegated ( ) are ready for new homes after being with us for a couple of weeks. Aren’t they pretty? The green-and-cream foliage looks light & feathery as they grow from graceful narrow branches. Not sure about you but I’m loving the vibes😍!

This evergreen shrub is slow growing (you may have encountered it as a bonsai) and native to the tropics of India & Polynesia. In our home studio, it gets a spot with bright and indirect light, and an occasional misting (Ming Ming, as we affectionately calls it, enjoys humidity). Every pot comes with well-draining potting mix to avoid the sensitive roots from sitting in water.

The also purifies the air (but frankly, the impact is not much given its small size.) It’s also popular as a gift as it symbolises peace, harmony and balance.

Remember our collab with our talented friend, Shelen Teo ()? We’re taking it one step further, and this time to .

Shelen’s beautiful ceramic works are on display & for sale Changi General Hospital from 12 to 21 Dec, including some dressed planters, curated with love by us!

‘Tis a fund-raising event organised by , and part of the earnings go to helping needy patients at CGH.

So, do drop by if you are in the area. Event runs at the Atrium in the main lobby, Mon-Fri 11am to 6pm & Sat 11am to 2pm.

Has everyone recovered from 11.11, Black Friday and Cyber Monday??? In this age of e-commerce, It’s scary how many impulse purchases we make and waste we create.

And so I salute one of my favourite skincare companies for going against the grain for the 4th year running. They ran their storewide 23% promo for the entire November, and halted(!) their website sales on Black Friday. Calling the month , the campaign calls for this:

No rush.
No pressure.
No impulse-purchasing necessary.
Shop slowly.

(Ps. I definitely aspire to do this too, if this humble shop actually becomes a hit one day! (白日梦) For now, don’t need campaign, biz is already slow haha, but happy to carry on this 💚passion project💚. It keeps me sane and many of you happy!)

Indeed, never impulse-buy, especially when it comes to plants🪴(and pets 🐕🐈‍⬛for that matter). Love at first sight is not enough!! Take your time to read up and get to know them, check to see if your environment is suitable, talk to friends who are plant moms & dads. Only when there’s a right match will happiness follow.

Curated these 2 cuties recently, so tempted to keep them for myself (job hazard!) but had to remind myself that I’m here to spread the joy of planting (not hoarding) 😂.

You’ll either love or hate these dudes. Cos they will always have a messy head (mob) of hair. I love the look! (Not if it’s on my teenage son thou, noooo!)
