7 Reasons To Conserve Energy

Conserving energy Although it has a comparatively small population, America uses approximately 25 percent of global energy supplies. There are many benefits to be gained by using energy conservation to reduce this number.

1. Reduce Living Expenses

Saving energy usually reduces living expenses. When the public consumes less fuel or electricity, decreasing demand causes prices to drop.

2. Benefits The Environment And Protects Wildlife

Less consumption benefits the environment and protects wildlife. It decreases direct air pollution from machinery, vehicles and power stations.

3. Less Power Plants

If the public conserves electricity, utilities will not have to build as many power plants. These facilities are often unsightly, generate considerable amounts of noise and create safety hazards for nearby residents.

4. Promote Health

By conserving fuel, people can protect the health of fellow humans as well.Pollution causes or exacerbates a wide range of serious medical problems, such as lung cancer and asthma. This results in unnecessary suffering and health care expenses.

5. Reduce Dependence

Less consumption reduces dependence on complex technology, transportation systems and trade agreements.

6. Finite Resources

Some of the resources that people use to generate electricity are finite. For example, the planet is not capable of creating additional coal or uranium supplies. By conserving electric power, people can ensure that affordable energy is available for future generations.

7. Make A Positive Impact

It may seem that personal efforts toward conservation have little impact, but they can accomplish more by setting a good example.

Nearly 75% of adults ages 50 and older want to remain in their homes for as long as possible as they age, according to the AARP 2021 Home and Community Preferences Survey.

“Smart home” devices, appliances and technologies can help older adults accomplish exactly that by connecting to their living spaces via internet. From smart door locks, cameras and lighting to smart hubs that control all your smart devices, smart home upgrades can help you age in place safely—even with mobility challenges and other health issues.

Smart Home Upgrades to Consider

Smart Hub

With a smart hub, you can turn lights on and off, lock and unlock doors, and control your smart television and other (compatible) smart devices in your home.

Smart Lighting

Smart light fixtures and light bulbs let you turn the lights in your home on and off remotely with sensors or by using voice activation or other controls through a smart hub.

Smart Stoves and Ovens

Unattended cooking was the top cause of cooking-related fires and casualties in 2020, according to a report from the National Fire Protection Association. What’s more, roughly 25% of deaths caused by fires that started on the stove occurred while the person was sleeping.

Doorbells and Smart Locks

These doorbells connect to an app on your smartphone and notify you when someone is at your door or enters a specified perimeter on the yard or street. Many video doorbells also record and save video footage.

Security Cameras

Smart cameras help you keep an eye on your home while you’re away. As you age, family members can also access smart cameras (with your permission) to monitor for falls or other emergencies.

Emergency Alert Systems

Many medical alert systems require the user to wear a pendant, watch or other wearable so they can push a button or speak to alert the company’s monitoring center if they fall or have a medical emergency.

How far would you go to protect your home? For some, forking out $24 for a security camera on Amazon is perfectly adequate. But for others, spending $30,000 a year to live with 24-hour armed security and a curfew, all surrounded by the luxury equivalent of a medieval moat, is the only way to go.

The Sanctuary in Boca Raton, Florida, is one example of a growing demand for highly sophisticated security systems among wealthy buyers. Homes in the sanctuary cost an average of $6.5 million to $7 million, while each individual spends about $30,000 a year on the security detail.

Similar to the set-up seen in the first film of "The Purge" movie franchise — where wealthy Americans lock themselves in their home with state-of-the-art technology to avoid civil unrest — the community includes a roving patrol on land and water, armed response, and infrared sensors on walls.

Americans are scared for their safety
While the average person might regard these measures as excessive, they reflect a growing trend of insecurity among America's wealthy.

Renting a Home in Singapore Has Never Been This Expensive

Rents for Singapore’s private apartments and Housing Development Board flats surged to record highs last month, according to local media, and expectations are that they will keep rising.

Condominium rents climbed 2.3% in April from a month earlier to surpass their previous peak reached in January 2013, while those for HDB flats increased 1.9% to exceed the record set in August 2013, the Business Times reported, citing data released by real estate portals 99.co and SRX Property.

There are a lot of elements to think about when it comes to home security systems and that includes how the security system could benefit you and your family. Here are a few reasons how that is true.

1. Protects valuables

We likely all know someone who has lost electronics, jewelry, or other high-value items due to a home invasion.

2. Deters crime

Having a security system not only protects you, but helps deter crime and creates a safer neighborhood for everyone.

3. Allows remote access to your home

Modern security systems now allow you to remotely monitor what’s happening in your home from your phone when you’re not there.

4. Lowers homeowner’s insurance

Yes, you may be paying a monthly fee for your security system, but having the system in your home can lower your homeowner’s insurance by up to 20%.

5. Notifies you of fire or gas problems

You can opt to receive notifications if your smoke alarms or carbon monoxide detectors go off when you’re away from home.

6. Helps keep tabs on kids

If you’re at work, you can use your provider’s mobile app to watch what’s happening in your home.

7. Improves electricity management

Many security companies, offer top quality smart home products like smart locks, video doorbells and smart thermostats, as part of their systems.

8. Makes room for peace of mind

The sense of security and comfort you gain with an alarm system is perhaps the greatest benefit of all. Next to being safe, the confidence of feeling safe will help you be a more productive, healthy, and focused person.

1. Home Decor

Lavish interiors inspired by international architectures, famous monuments, and trending decor styles together make the luxury homes distinct.

2. Security

These security features are what separates luxury homes from normal ones. In order to secure your house from unwanted attention and burglary actions, the homes come with smart locks, CCTV cameras, safety alarms for fire, floods, or break-ins. Apart from home security systems, these luxury apartments also have strong security at the entrance of the property.

3. Home Plans

They say, with luxury comes vast space. All these home plans are carefully designed and crafted giving the entire home interior a modern look.

4. High End Kitchens

A spacious kitchen with top-class appliances is all a chef wants. Luxury flats with high-end kitchens feature double ovens, heating drawers, island sink, washers, and more. All these features are not easily seen in a typical kitchen.

5. Surreal View from Property

Nothing feels better than coming home from work to a peaceful environment. Luxury apartments are designed with open areas and huge balconies that provide a surreal view of the surroundings.

6. Smart Homes Features

Many luxury homes are crafted with smart features such as a security system accessible via the app, motion sensor lighting, timer-set lights, curtains that operate on sunlight, smart thermostat, and more.

7. Lavish Property Amenities

Your bedroom is where you begin each day, and when the space feels tidy and elegant, you’ll always wake up on the right side of the bed. If you’re considering adding an automation system to your luxury home in Palm Beach, FL, discover your options below.

HIDDEN TV SCREENS

Couples often debate if there should be a TV in the bedroom. Do a quick Google search, and you’ll find countless articles about why televisions have no place near a bed.

MOTORIZED SHADES & DRAPES

Waking up can be a struggle, but it’s better when Florida’s morning sun is shining through your bedroom windows. An automation system lets you schedule your shades or drapes to open automatically in the morning.

SMART HVAC CONTROLS

If you’ve ever laid awake sweating in the summertime or awoken freezing because the AC was set too low, you know how the weather can disturb your sleep. Now you can set your bedroom’s temperature to the perfect setting right from bed.

BEDTIME MOOD LIGHTING

During the day, you might like a bright light in the walk-in closet or master bathroom, so you can see clearly while you’re getting ready. But at night, anything other than cozy warm lighting is uncomfortable.

AUTOMATED BEDROOM SCENES

Home automation makes it simple to create the ambience you desire. Our team can program scenes for you like “Morning” and “Night” that automatically set the room’s electronics and systems to your preferred settings.

5 Smart Home Automation Safety Tips

1. Which Features Matter Most?

Many consumers seek out specific solutions (e.g., remotely turning on lights), which can lead to a number of gadgets that do not communicate. Choosing them on an individual basis could leave a homeowner with a dozen different apps and ways to control their home.

2. Smart Sensors Protect the Home

Smart home devices can help homeowners manage their risk by enabling remote monitoring, alerts and control of a home’s systems that, if they were to fail and go unnoticed, could result in costly consequences.

* Smart thermostats can provide alerts
* Water Sensors can detect unwanted water in the home
* Smoke, heat and carbon monoxide detectors

3. Smart Security Systems

* Smart locks remotely control and monitor home entry.
* Smart light bulbs remotely control or program lights when you are away, in order to make a home appear occupied.
* Smart motion lights and exterior lighting allow for remote programming and monitoring.
* Connected security cameras monitor a home, while connected motion sensors can provide alerts.
* Smart doorbell alerts monitor activity at the front door and allows homeowners to remotely view and/or photograph visitors.
* Smart garage door delivers alerts when the door is left open and allows a homeowner to close it remotely.

4. Understand Privacy Policies

With the Internet of Things monitoring, sharing and potentially selling consumer data, some smart coffee makers, dishwashers and thermostats now come with privacy policies.

5. Secure Your Network

It is also important to secure devices to help protect against hackers and other intrusions.

* Safety and security features can vary widely
* Devices that are hard-wired to the internet rather than those that rely on a wifi connection tend to be more secure
* Remember the passwords are the first line of defense.

Although the idea of home automation has been around for some time, actual smart homes have only existed a short while.

1901 – 1920 - The invention of home appliances –
Throughout two decades refrigerators would be invented, as well as clothes dryers, washing machines, irons, toasters, and so much more.
1966 – 1967 - ECHO IV and the Kitchen Computer – Although it was never commercially sold, the ECHO IV was the first smart device. This clever device could compute shopping lists, control the home’s temperature and turn appliances on and off.
The Kitchen Computer, developed a year later, could store recipes, but had the unfortunate tagline, “If she can only cook as well as Honeywell can computer” and therefore sold no models.
