This is about as small as I am willing to go: 24cm pot. Anything smaller becomes quite challenging.

Many people ask for micro-lotus, but honestly, they are more challenging requires more effort.
You put in all the effort, hope for a bloom, take a few photos… and that’s about it. 😄

For beginners, start with a bigger lotus variety. It is more forgiving, more rewarding, and may not even take up much more space.

Start with success first. Challenge later. 🌱

A Pond Reborn in 6 Weeks

These waterlily ponds went from sparse to thriving with purple blooms in just 6 weeks.

They had spent years trying, planting thousands of new pots of waterlilies, but this part of the pond still did not flourish.

I promised them within 2 months, the ponds would be transformed — without buying a single new plant.

Glad to be featured in Lianhe Zaobao today 🌸

I’m grateful for the opportunity to be interviewed and to share my lotus journey — from growing my first lotus more than 10 years ago, to writing my book: Lotus in Bloom, conducting talks, and helping more people appreciate and grow this beautiful plant.

What started as a personal hobby has slowly blossomed into something much more meaningful: sharing knowledge, building a community, and helping more gardens bloom.

Today at the Sentosa pond 🌸

Very satisfying to see this pond thriving and blooming.

The waterlilies are happy, the lotus are recovering from a simulated “winter”, and the whole pond feels so alive.
