Dear all,
Very excited to announce that we are passing the baton to in continuing to retail both the Magic Composters and Magic substrates.

There were much sleepless nights when creating the magic composter kit 2 years ago and I'm very heartened that despite not having a product design/engineering background with much trial and errors - it has made a positive difference in the home composting community.

We like to continue everyone's journey in using the magic composter, but much has happened last year:

A co-founder has left last year, I was surprisingly pregnant and had to move office with the help of family and friends. In view of these events, Soil Social had to review its limited capacity and pivot its focus.

We'll continue to create impact alongside to create fertility in soil substrates for integration into urban farming systems and work with different entities in soil microbiology assessments with methodologies, educational programmes and consultations.

We are excited to announce as Dr Mary Cole, who's a pioneer in soil regeneration practices alongside Dr Elaine Ingham from the , will be sharing with us her experience of more than 50 years in transforming synthetic farming practices around the world.

An academic fellow with University of Melbourne, Monash University & Charles Stuart University, Dr Mary Cole has started Agpath Pty Ltd in 1980 from a research grant to develop biological control on Botrytis, a fungal pathogen in grapevines. Today, Agpath is a laboratory that investigates disease organisms and biological aspects of the soil.

Over the 1.5-hour we will be discussing:
- Dr Mary Cole's experiences with regenerating soil for farms in Fiji and UAE
- How to adapt farming practices in the face of rapid climate changes
- Adapting home equipment to create simple soil biology tests: for the citizen scientists and small scale food growers
- Doing your part in creating a better environment for the future

Delighted to have had an engaging session at the Singapore Garden Fest 2024 organized by NParks about the different types of beneficial micro-organisms active in good soil and healthy compost.

In a simple visual comparison here, of the differences between soil, compost and dirt. The dirt samples were taken from compacted soil in a Philippines farm which unfortunately represented a huge farming area - waterlogged and heavily compacted.

Different beneficial micro-organisms co-exists to bring life to soil Soil Food Web there is a hope that Soil Social can transform more farms into fertile land while co-existing with its native biodiversity - it starts from below ground.
