"Turning black and white into gold..." a tongue in cheek title for a somewhat indulgent architectural expedition.
Detailing and Geometry taken to its logical conclusion. A schizophrenic attempt at conforming to and at the same time exploiting both. The Architect's Architect is an "interesting" place to be but in the end it was better than I can imagine. "Uncompromising" and the old adage " a thing of beauty is a joy for ever" ruled the day.
I do think this is only possible when my collaborator in spirit is the client; an equally interested practitioner of the craft. Thank you CH.
The century-old black and white bungalow is updated and reimagined with new materials and forms.
