Perched 350 meters above sea level on a steep slope, Houkouen Tea Garden quietly gazes upon a tranquil scene of Mount Fuji and a sea of clouds. The morning mist transforms into a soft light, while the afternoon sunshine bathes across the tea fields—the day unfolding like a beautiful poem.

Located in the Ryōganai area of Aoi Ward, upstream of the Okitsu River, Mr. Jiro Katahira, the tea garden owner, safeguards these tea mountains with meticulous craftsmanship and a deep love for the land. He leads visitors on a stroll through the tea gardens and a tour of the tea workshop, sharing stories about tea while inviting them to experience its true essence through all five senses.

Here you can sample multiple teas—from sencha to black tea and roasted tea—in a single session. Each sip carries the essence of mountains and rivers, from its aroma to its sweetness. The shop also offers exquisite tea gifts packaged in Mount Fuji-shaped wrapping, making them a perfect gift or souvenir.
