This weave was inspired by my 5 year old’s 🖼painting (and the limited stash of textiles I had at home!)

I should probably trim ✂️ & neaten up that fringe, but the raw 🥩 messiness kinda appeals to my own random, explorative 🍃 nature. (Or I could just be covering for plain laziness...🤷🏻‍♀️)

Ok, I will end this brief wave of noob weavings and get back to home decor/reno posts soon! Coming towards the end of my home styling journey with the amazing 😢 but blessed to be at the beginning stages of styling a 2BR dual-key investment unit with the help of power couple ! 🤗

Comparison is the thief of joy, so I’m not gonna compare my weave attempt #2 with what others managed to do on their very first try!

I was so excited to experiment with the weaving techniques taught us yesterday, I started on a second weave that very night despite the lack of dowels & warp thread!🙊

I love how welcoming and generous the community of weavers here on IG have been with advice and encouragement! Special thanks to for responding to my call for help on Soumak! 🙏🏼💕

Next thing I wanna attempt is loops! 🍜 🤗

Do you typically start with a plan before you weave? I’ve been just winging it so far, and it’s been fun seeing how things turn out, but I hope I can learn to execute ideas I have in my head too once I’m more familiar with this stuff!

My birthday present to myself this year : attending a beginner weaving class conducted by the talented Cord x Clay sisters, Elisa & Evelyn!

A perfect morning of me-time with sparkling mimosas, yummy snacks & lovely company whilst learning a variety of weave techniques - time really flew by! So happy we got to take home our own little wall hangings at the end of class!

Pretty rattan/straw baskets are usually quite pricey 💰 here in Singapore despite living in the tropics 🌴 , I have no idea why? 🤷🏻‍♀️So I jumped at Bohemian’s 50% storewide promo! 🤩

Gorgeous way to keep bits and pieces in sight yet presentable, don’t you think? What would you use these baskets for? I honestly haven’t got a clear plan in my head yet, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out along the way! (Or turn to for help! 🤣)

One of the most fun🤗 (and most time ⏰ consuming) bits of transforming our 🏡 home was shopping for tiles!

There’s just so many gorgeous options out there 🤩... and then of course the practical considerations like whether they’re slip-resistant or of suitable size for the chosen

This is a of our boys’ tiny ensuite 🚿 🚽!
I was so happy finding something that gelled with the existing mint window frames, and a sturdy stainless steel sink counter! (That has withstood a massive onslaught of 💦 from our 5 year old!👍🏼💪🏼🤣)

I had concerns about open shelving in a kitchen that’s fully visible from our living room... but this is how it looks 5 months on, without any special pre-photo tidying! 🤗

Admittedly, it took some tweaking to reach this level of ease - photo 2 shows how it looked immediately post-reno, before Styledbypt stepped in to add in more shelfie space to balance the upper cabinets plus a super versatile movable counter that gives us more closed storage and serves as a buffet food serving spot when we have dinner parties (it can be pushed out to our dining area thanks for to spiffy wheels!☺️💕)

And no, it’s not that we’re super efficient with putting away the dishes, the dish drying rack is tucked to the right, hidden by our big ass fridge! 🤭
