Architecture is alive. When this house was completed almost twenty years ago, this was a tall open deck overlooking the swimming pool, defined by majestic brick columns to frame the view. Changes are made to adapt to the needs of its occupants. A new floor is inserted, to create an upper deck which becomes the roof to a gym below, both spaces still having the grand pool vistas, but at a more intimate scale.

Architecture is alive. A building changes and adapts to the needs of its occupants as they grow over the years. Here, what was an open balcony overlooking the swimming pool almost twenty years ago, was enclosed and converted into a small TV lounge integrated with the Master bedroom. "Internalised" but still connected with the surroundings.
