A living area should look good, but it should also support the way a family uses the home every day. 🏠✨

Last week at a 4-room BTO in Macpherson, our experienced interior designer Zan Lai shared how he planned the living area with both function and comfort in mind. One of the key details was the concealed storeroom door, designed to blend neatly with the L-shaped cabinet so the overall look feels clean and seamless.

For the wardrobe niche, Zan designed it taller than usual to better fit the homeowner’s lifestyle, while also adding a power track for more flexible daily use. These small details make the space more practical without making the design feel heavy. 🔌

The TV feature wall was created using partition work, paired with two LED strips to make the living area feel warmer and cosier. The L-shaped TV console also comes with storage, giving the kids a place to keep their toys while doubling as a study or drawing table. It can even be used as a settee, making the whole area more versatile for the family. 💛

Learning never stops in the renovation industry. 🏡✨

Last month, our new batch of interior designers visited Excel Brand Experience Center (BEC) in Admiralty for a comprehensive product presentation and showroom tour. 💡

During the session, the team explored a range of upcoming and innovative products, including the Rose Gold Collection, Matte Black Collection, Pole System & Wardrobe Accessories, Ecoply Low Formaldehyde Wood, Aluminium Cabinets, and Stainless Steel Kitchen Accessories. They also had the opportunity to experience the products firsthand through a touch-and-feel tour. 🔨

Understanding materials and product solutions is an important part of helping homeowners make better renovation decisions. The more our designers learn, the better they can guide homeowners in creating homes that are both practical and beautiful. 😊

What a night to remember! 🎉🏠

Last week at Tradehub Showroom, the FT2 Interior Design team came together for our Gala Night, a celebration filled with laughter, games, and good food. It was a night where our designers could unwind, bond, and have some fun outside the usual work routine. 💛

The evening was packed with exciting challenges that had everyone laughing and cheering:

Blindfolded Banana Feeding Challenge 🍌 – trying to feed a banana without seeing was harder than it looked!
Blindfolded “Guess the Person” Challenge 👀 – our IDs tested how well they could recognise each other just by touch.
Johnathon’s Voice Recognition Challenge 🎤 – guessing names from voice alone brought out lots of surprises and funny moments.
Cup Grab Battle 🏆 – the fastest to grab the cup won, and the energy in the room was electric!

Beyond the games, the night was about celebrating the FT2 family, appreciating each other, and sharing moments that strengthen our teamwork.

From heartfelt laughter to lighthearted competition, it was clear that the bond among our designers is as strong as ever.

Even as we work hard to create beautiful homes for our clients, it’s these moments of fun and connection that remind us why teamwork makes every project possible. 💛

Here’s to more laughter, more games, and more memories together at FT2! ✨

One of the most exciting stages of a renovation is when the carpentry starts coming in. 🏠✨

Last month at Tampines, our experienced interior designers Fiona Cheng and Luis Heng visited the site on the first day of carpentry installation. Materials had just arrived, and the carpenters were preparing to begin the installation process. 🪵📦

At this stage, many spaces still look empty, especially areas like the master bedroom and kitchen. But once the carpentry is installed, the transformation becomes much more noticeable, and homeowners can start seeing the design come to life. 😊

It is always exciting to watch a space evolve from a bare room into a home filled with character and functionality. 💛

A wardrobe can do more than just store clothes when it is planned around the homeowner’s daily routine. 🏠✨

Last week at a BTO project in Macpherson, our experienced interior designer Steven Wong shared how an L-shaped wardrobe can be designed together with a dressing table to make better use of the bedroom space.

Instead of treating the wardrobe and dressing area as two separate zones, the layout connects both functions neatly. The curved wardrobe cabinet also softens the overall look while keeping the design practical for everyday use.

Beyond aesthetics, this setup gives the homeowner more storage and includes electrical points for daily essentials such as hair tools, chargers, or grooming devices. A simple design choice that makes the bedroom feel more organised and functional. 💛

“Being able to see everything in 3D made the decision much easier.” 💬🏡

Last Friday at our TradeHub showroom, homeowner Mr Chee Yau shared his experience after viewing his 4-room BTO home in 3D with our experienced interior designer Zan Lai. ✨

For many homeowners, it can be difficult to imagine how a floor plan will translate into a real living space. Seeing the entire home in 3D helps bring ideas to life and provides greater clarity before renovation begins. 💡

When you can visualise your future home, you can make decisions with confidence and avoid unnecessary guesswork along the way. 💛

Choosing materials is not just about what looks nice in 3D. It is also about how easy your home is to maintain after moving in. 🏠✨

Our experienced interior designer Jo Beh shared practical material tips for three important areas of the home: living area, kitchen, and toilet.

For the living area, Jo recommends matte finishes for areas that are touched often, such as feature walls, TV consoles, and cabinets. Fingerprints are less obvious, and the surface is generally easier to maintain for daily use. 🛋️

For the kitchen, she suggests choosing wood tones or darker laminates for cabinets, especially for homeowners who cook often. White cabinets may look clean at first, but oil stains can be more visible, and the surface may turn yellowish over time. 🍳

For the toilet vanity area, Jo recommends FT2’s waterproof PVC foam board instead of normal PVC or laminate. In wet areas, water can slowly seep into regular cabinet materials, causing bubbling or swelling over time. 🚿

A beautiful home should not only look good on day one, but also stay practical for everyday living. 💛
