On the first day of the World Junior Fencing Championships, Benjamin competed across age groups, first in the Cadet category and then in the Youth event.
He performed excellently in the pool rounds, achieving an impressive record of 5 wins and 1 loss.
In the Table of 128, he defeated a strong German fencer to advance. Unfortunately, he faced a fellow Chinese fencer in the Table of 64 and was eliminated.
He was initially outpaced by his opponent’s speed and fell behind by a large margin. Although he adjusted well in the second period and found openings, the early deficit proved too great. He ultimately lost 11–15, falling short of the Round of 32.
We look forward to him regaining his form and achieving great results in the Youth category on the following day!
