We were recently honoured to be a winner in the LIV Hospitality Design Awards 2025, in the Architectural Design - Villa category, for our Sea Renity Villa project. Located on the tropical island of Koh Samui, Thailand, the brief called for a luxurious 7-bedroom villa, set on a stunning sunset, beach front setting, with views to the neighbouring islands.

Ha Long Ocean Park 🌊

Located along the rapidly developing Bai Chay Beach in Ha Long City, the project brief called for two community-focused beach facilities. The two sites are positioned at opposite ends of the beach and both enjoy stunning views out to Cat Ba Island and Ha Long Bay.

The concept draws inspiration from flowing forms that grow from the ground up, becoming one with the sand and nature. We envisioned both parts of the brief – the internal spaces and the outdoor sports facilities – as interconnected and complementary. Our design integrates architecture seamlessly with the surrounding external spaces.

At night, the buildings glow like lanterns — revealing their inner workings to the public and serving as beacons and attractors along the beachfront.

✨ Tan and Sang from the Fractal Vietnam team attended the recent V Mark Gala in Ho Chi Minh City, where our Ha Long Ocean Park project received a VMARK Vietnam Design Award — Silver Winner in the Best Landscape Architecture category. 🏆

MOUNTAIN RETREAT🏝️
Koh Samui, Thailand 2018

Throwback to an unshared design from 2018 – MOUNTAIN RETREAT, Koh Samui, Thailand.

This 1.6-hectare mountaintop site was designed as a private sanctuary, nestled amongst 150 existing coconut trees. We took inspiration from the natural canopy, designing origami pavilions with rooflines and timber louvres that echo the form and movement of coconut leaves. The design is flexible enough to easily be adjusted to avoid existing trees, all of which will be retained.

Each pavilion was shaped by its view and purpose, including a spa, gym, yoga space, library, reception and of course sleeping and living areas. The buildings were arranged to feel like a herd of structures quietly resting under the trees, in harmony with the landscape.
Completely off-grid and self-sustaining, the retreat features a sizable solar farm, large rain water harvesting tanks under the tennis court, deep well water supply, grey water recycling, organic fruit & vegetable gardens and septic tanks for each pavillion.
We never shared this one back in 2018, it felt like now was the time.

NEW YORK CITY🇺🇸, NY, September 29, 2025 — Architizer is proud to reveal the Winners of the 2025 Vision Awards, the world’s leading program celebrating the art and impact of architectural imagery and ideas!

Project Name - Moon Bridge🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑

Every month the town's city lights are switched off to celebrate the full moon festival. Locals and visitors flock to the riverbanks to release candle-lit floating lanterns whilst wishing for happiness, luck and love. A nearby ancient bridge contains an additional cultural element in the form of a temple. From this stemmed the idea of providing more than just a crossing from A to B, but to also include a cultural function. Access to water level is often quite tricky, our gentle stair down to the water from the centre of the bridge allows visitors to easily release their water lanterns, board a gondola, or sit on the steps to enjoy an impromptu show on the small stage with the river as a backdrop. The ceramic clad canopy incorporates a ‘moon’ light box that will mimic the progression of the moon phases, allowing people to easily chart the next full moon🌕

✨ BAAN SABAI – Koh Samui ✨

Every project has its own story, and BAAN SABAI begins with a rare beachfront site in Koh Samui 40 meters of sand lined with 30 majestic trees 🌴.

Instead of clearing the land, we chose to design around the trees, letting them guide the form of the villa.

Today, as the structure rises from the ground 🏗️, you can already feel the dialogue between architecture and nature taking shape. Each pavilion is carefully placed to frame intimate courtyards, creating a rhythm
of light, shade, and breeze.

The villa is designed primarily for one person, a private retreat, the spaces are scaled accordingly to be more intimate. At roof level, built-in planters will overflow with greenery, cascading down the façades.

Arched openings and frameless glass will dissolve the boundary between inside and out, letting the villa breathe with its surroundings. 🌿

This is more than just a home; it’s a sanctuary in harmony with nature.
Stay tuned as we share more milestones on the journey of BAAN SABAI.

:🌊 HOAI NHON MIXED-USE DEVELOPMENT
📍 Hoai Nhon, Binh Dinh, Vietnam | 2022
🏗️ GFA: 26,500m²
In the heart of Hoai Nhon — a quiet, low-rise city in Binh Dinh Province — our mixed-use
development stands as a bold new urban landmark.
This riverfront project includes:
✨ A 16-storey hotel with 135 guest rooms
🎭 A modern conference & entertainment centre
🏬 A 4-storey shophouse block to support local commerce
Rooted deeply in local pride, the design draws direct inspiration from the city’s official logo —
incorporating its striking blue and symbolic elements that reference Hoai Nhon’s lush coconut
plantations and seafaring heritage. These motifs flow through the architecture, creating a
strong sense of identity and belonging.
Set to become a catalyst for urban growth, this project not only celebrates the city's past but
also shapes its future.
