Inara
An Escape by the River
“Inara” คือบ้านพักตากอากาศริมแม่น้ำแควน้อยในจังหวัดกาญจนบุรี ซึ่งเจ้าของโครงการได้ให้แนวคิดสำคัญไว้ตั้งแต่ต้นว่า สถาปัตยกรรมควรเชื่อมโยงพื้นที่ ภายใน ภายนอก และธรรมชาติรอบด้าน เข้าด้วยกันอย่างกลมกลืน พร้อมเปิดมุมมองจากตัวบ้านไปยังแม่น้ำให้ได้มากที่สุด
แนวทางการออกแบบจึงเริ่มจากความเรียบง่าย แต่ผสมผสานองค์ประกอบของ ความเป็นไทยหรือพื้นถิ่น ผ่านแรงบันดาลใจจาก วัสดุธรรมชาติ พืชท้องถิ่น และงานฝีมือพื้นบ้าน เพื่อให้ตัวบ้านมีความกลมกลืนกับบริบทโดยรอบ และให้ความรู้สึกผ่อนคลายเหมือนการได้หลบหนีจากความวุ่นวายเข้าสู่ธรรมชาติ
ในด้านการจัดวางฟังก์ชัน เราให้ความสำคัญกับ พื้นที่ส่วนกลาง (Common Area) และ ห้องนอนใหญ่ (Master Bedroom) โดยจัดวางให้เชื่อมต่อทั้งในแง่การใช้งานและการมองเห็นไปยังสระว่ายน้ำ และแม่น้ำแควน้อย เพื่อสร้างประสบการณ์ของการใช้ชีวิตที่ไหลลื่นเชื่อมโยงกับธรรมชาติ
รูปทรงและสัดส่วนของอาคาร ได้รับการออกแบบโดยคำนึงถึงความรู้สึกของพื้นที่ และความสัมพันธ์กับบริบทที่ล้อมรอบ อาคารไม่ได้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อแสดงตัวหรือโดดเด่น แต่เลือกจะวางตัวอย่างสงบ ไม่สูงใหญ่เกินไปเมื่อเทียบกับต้นไม้หรือภูมิทัศน์ที่อยู่โดยรอบ เพื่อให้เมื่อมองจากแม่น้ำหรือเมื่อเดินเข้าสู่ตัวบ้าน ผู้ใช้งานจะรู้สึกถึงความต่อเนื่องระหว่างพื้นที่ภายนอกและภายในโดยไม่รู้สึกถูกตัดขาด

“Inara” is a private retreat located along the Khwae Noi River in Kanchanaburi. From the outset, the client expressed a clear intention: the architecture must seamlessly connect the interior, exterior, and surrounding nature, while offering expansive views from the interior spaces toward the river.
The design approach begins with simplicity, combined with elements inspired by Thai vernacular architecture. The project draws on natural materials, local vegetation, and regional craftsmanship to create a built environment that blends harmoniously with its natural context, evoking a sense of calm and retreat from urban life.
In terms of spatial planning, priority is given to the common area and the master bedroom, both of which are arranged to connect directly—visually and physically—to the swimming pool and the river. This ensures a fluid experience of indoor-outdoor living that embraces the natural surroundings.
The form and proportions of the house were carefully considered to reflect a sense of balance with the site. The architecture is quiet and restrained, designed not to dominate the landscape but to mediate the transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. The overall massing is intentionally kept modest, respecting the scale of nearby trees and the riverside view. Whether seen from the water or experienced upon arrival, the building aims to feel integrated with its setting, rather than standing apart from it.
