This project aims to create a flexible meeting and interaction space adaptable to diverse uses within a context of an open area, residential and commercial buildings lacking interesting surroundings or views. The concept, "Urban Forest," seeks to generate a relaxing, natural environment evoking the feeling of a forest with trees, water, and life, engaging all five senses. The design interprets "forest" as a collection of trees of varying sizes, using organic forms. Curved, single-pillar circular seating arrangements are randomly placed both inside and outside, blurring the lines between architecture and interior design. This creates interesting spatial dimensions and introduces a human scale to a potentially large space. Curved lines are consistently used in floors, walls, and ceilings for a unified aesthetic. Externally, curved lines complement the interior. A long, horizontal roofline provides shade and minimizes the building's perceived size. Trees, wood paneling, water features, and a waterfall are integrated throughout to reinforce the forest atmosphere. The deer, symbolizing abundant wildlife, serves as the project's logo and decorative motif. The usable space is divided into three interconnected zones: interior, exterior waterfall zone, and exterior garden zone. Interior : A double-height open space allows for visual interaction. A central bar counter (with both speed and slow service areas) serves as a focal point, surrounded by floating wooden seating. Circular seating pillars and upper-level walkway pillars evoke the feeling of trees. A winding staircase with slatted wooden railings resembles vines, leading towards a tree-filled area. Skylights mimic dappled sunlight filtering through trees, illuminating the space and promoting energy efficiency. The upper level offers semi-private seating, particularly in the circular arrangements, balancing privacy with views of the public area below. Exterior : The waterfall zone features recessed seating in the water for intimate interaction. The garden zone features randomly placed trees and white gravel flooring, creating the feeling of sitting under trees. Circulation is designed to connect all zones without retracing steps, using pathways, elevated walkways, bridges, and staircases strategically placed inside and outside. These elements enhance spatial perception and atmospheric transitions. Materials include glass, wood, plywood, galvanized steel, and rose gold steel, blending natural and urban elements, reflecting the core concept

This design concept for a vacation home prioritizes the creation of a restorative experience, fostering energy, inspiration, and vitality through a profound connection with nature. The architecture facilitates an immersive sensory journey, allowing the occupant to fully absorb the power and tranquility of the natural surroundings for complete mental and spiritual rejuvenation. The design emphasizes simplicity in form and material selection, allowing the natural elements to take center stage. Various living spaces are strategically dispersed, interwoven with natural features such as gardens, trees, green walls, and a reflecting pool. The spatial sequence, guided by architectural elements like walls and skylights, carefully orchestrates a shifting sensory experience that embraces nature's rhythms. Comfort is not sacrificed, but the emphasis is on a mindful engagement with the natural environment that promotes a revitalizing experience. The sequence of spaces unfolds in three stages: Stage 1: Arrival (Parking Zone): A dark, austere palette of black walls and flooring creates a deliberate transition from the urban environment. This space, visually separated from the natural landscape by an offset, double-layered wall, symbolically leaves behind the intensity of city life and prepares the mind and body for the restorative experience to come. The vehicle, a symbol of urban life, is left behind. Stage 2: Immersion (Garden Zone): Passing through the wall, the visitor encounters a simple, uncluttered garden. The absence of artificial shelters from sun and rain fosters a direct, unmediated interaction with the natural elements. The extended length of this zone encourages gentle movement and light exercise, incorporating physical activity into the relaxation process. Stage 3: Sanctuary (Residential Zone): Ascending stairs, a transition from the garden, leads to a spacious hall featuring a sculptural black water feature. A wooden wall screens the next area, prompting a pause and allowing the sounds of water, the wood textures, and the bronze accents to soothe the mind. Beyond this wall lies the ultimate focal point: the sea. The villa layout optimizes natural ventilation and maximizes ocean views. Private rooms (bedrooms) are separated from public areas (living, dining, kitchen, and service spaces) which necessitates navigating a covered walkway between the areas. The bedroom wings are offset, ensuring privacy and enhancing the sense of peaceful retreat. Sea and garden views are incorporated into both public and private spaces. An infinity pool, seamlessly blending with the ocean horizon, is situated at the end of the structure, with the building elevated to enhance this visual continuity. Bedrooms and bathrooms within the garden area utilize green walls for both privacy and visual continuity with the natural landscape. Strategically placed skylights throughout hallways and bathrooms introduce light to spaces otherwise shaded, enhance ventilation, and create dynamic lighting effects throughout the day.
