It grew - workshop by workshop, conversation by conversation - into a riverside destination built around Geordie culture, local heritage and community life.

Nobody set out to make that happen. So what changed?

Great Design Begins with People.

Citystars Park St. is a mixed-use district extending 1.2 kilometres along Cairo's New Ring Road, shaped by human-centric design. Its 290,000 square metres bring architecture, landscape, wellness, hospitality, commerce, and culture together in one live-work-play destination, with over 80,000 m², roughly 60% of the site, given to shaded streets, plazas, and gardens.

A level of urban comfort beyond expectations, shaping public spaces into interconnected neighbourhoods that enrich everyday life through walkable convenience, environmental beauty, and sustainable performance.

Concept i - 30 Years Designing for People

Thirty years ago, we founded Concept i on one simple belief: every great project begins with a powerful idea.

That philosophy became our identity and our process; Ideate. Innovate. Impact.

As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, I'm proud to reflect on the journey, the values that have guided us, and the exciting future ahead. Our tools have changed dramatically. We have moved from hand sketches and drawing boards to BIM, AI and immersive digital technologies. Yet one belief has remained constant.

Great design begins with people;

Understand people before designing places.

Challenge convention with curiosity and collaboration.

Measure success not by square metres, but by the lives we enrich.

Whether we are designing a mixed-use destination or a retail center, a children's environment, a workplace, the question remains remarkably simple:

How will this enrich people's lives?

I believe that question will remain just as relevant over the next thirty years as it has over the past thirty.

Thirty years of Concept i, and this one we celebrate out loud.

So much about how we design has changed, but the conviction underneath it still holds. The idea comes first. It did in 1996, and it still does.

This year we will share the ideas, the process and the people behind the work. To the clients, partners, and team who built this with us, thank you.

What comes next is the key to your future!

Design is learned through exploration, and through everything that happens in between.

Gem joined us as an intern and leaves having grasped something many designers take years to see. At Concept i, the idea comes first, but it is the exploration around it, the cultural context, the research, the testing, that gives a design the foundation to succeed.

Lighting is felt long before it is noticed.

That was the thread through our Bangkok studio last week, when Cesare Vezzani of LODES joined us. Directors Francesc Domingo and Natalie Chelliah sat in, and the talk turned to lighting that is responsive, sustainable, and crafted to carry emotion.

That thinking runs through our work. Light that immerses, engages, and gives a space its feeling.
