TS residence ....."Tropical Sanctuary"
Tropical Sanctuary is designed as a residence that harmoniously blends architecture with nature, situated amidst the serene landscape of Khao Yai. The core concept of the project is to create a connection between residents and the natural environment through expansive views, natural ventilation, and a seamless flow of interconnected spaces.
The building's form is oriented based on a detailed site analysis to align with the location and open up views toward the mountains and surrounding greenery. The main functional areas are designed to face the landscape and the swimming pool, creating a continuous relationship between interior spaces and the outdoors.
The heart of the home is the Living Area, which serves as the central hub for household activities, linking the primary functional zones together. The use of vertical double-volume space enhances natural light pe*******on and airflow, creating an airy, comfortable atmosphere perfectly suited for a tropical climate.
Environmental concepts are integrated into the design, with the building oriented to respond to solar orientation and prevailing wind directions to facilitate Passive Cooling. Natural breezes flow through semi-outdoor areas and main living spaces, reducing energy consumption and creating thermal comfort within the building.
Water elements, such as the swimming pool and landscaping connected to the canal, are integrated with the main activity areas to create a peaceful, relaxing ambiance inspired by the flow of natural streams. Meanwhile, the terrace and semi-outdoor spaces extend the living area into the surrounding nature.
The material selection emphasizes a Modern Tropical Aesthetic, combining simple architectural forms with natural materials such as wood textures, stone surfaces, and earth tones. This allows the structure to blend into the Khao Yai atmosphere and reflect the beauty of nature throughout the day, from the morning mist to the evening sun.
This project is, therefore, a sanctuary where architecture and nature become one, creating a living experience that is peaceful, simple, and in harmony with the rhythm of nature in a tropical climate.
