เป็นไม้ล้มลุกอายุหลายปีมีเหง้าใต้ดิน
ออกดอก ช่วงฤดูฝน
ใบประดับ (Bract ) ส่วนล่างสีเขียว ส่วนยอดสีขาวปนเขียว ดอกจริงคือดอกเล็กๆสีม่วงเข้มที่อยู่ในซอกใบ ทยอยบาน
ชอบดินร่วน /ร่วนปนทราย ระบายน้ำดี แดดจัด ☀️
ขยายพันธุ์โดย เพาะเมล็ด แยกหัว ผ่าเหง้า เพาะเลี้ยงเนื้อเยื่อ
มีสรรพคุณเป็นสมุนไพร ดอกอ่อนนำมารับประทานได้
