The site is currently in the foundation construction stage, with the main building footprint and structural grid clearly established on site. Foundation bases are being installed progressively across the site, while excavation and ground preparation works are continuing in other areas.

A raw concrete building emerges subtly from the surrounding wilderness, almost blending into the natural terrain. The expansive rooftop functions as an observation deck, offering uninterrupted views of the endless forest and distant mountain ranges. A single person standing on the roof emphasizes the vastness of the landscape and the intimate relationship between humans and nature.

Material Combination: Bridging Old and New
The design celebrates the coexistence of heritage and contemporary architecture by preserving the original timber framework while introducing modern materials with a restrained architectural language. The warm, weathered wood reflects the building’s history, craftsmanship, and cultural memory, creating a sense of authenticity and permanence. In contrast, the newly inserted perforated panel provides a clean and refined expression, offering visual lightness, natural ventilation, and filtered daylight.

Terraviva Competitions

Our design concept has been selected as one of the finalists.

The project explores the dialogue between historic architecture and contemporary design, transforming an existing masonry building into a vibrant destination while preserving its cultural identity. Rather than competing with the original structure, the new architectural intervention is conceived as a lightweight, reversible addition that respectfully sits above the historic fabric, allowing the past and present to coexist in harmony.

The original stone walls and rhythmic arches are carefully restored and celebrated as the foundation of the design, preserving the building’s authentic character and craftsmanship. In contrast, the new upper volume employs a steel structure and permeable bamboo-inspired screening, creating a contemporary architectural language that is visually light, environmentally responsive, and distinguishable from the existing building.

This residence is designed around the belief that true luxury is timeless—not defined by trends, but by proportion, craftsmanship, and atmosphere.

The concept blends the elegance of classical architecture with the simplicity of contemporary design. Traditional elements such as arches, moldings, and symmetry are reinterpreted through clean lines, refined materials, and modern detailing, creating a home that feels both sophisticated and relevant.
