33. YAŞ KUTLAMASI! : TTds SKETCHBOOK
1986’da Tülay Tosun’un bireysel tasarım pratiğiyle başlayan yolculuk, 26 Şubat 1993’te Palmiye Peyzaj Mimarlığı’nın resmi kuruluşuyla kurumsal bir yapıya dönüştü.
Bugün TTds olarak devam eden bu üretim süreci, iki ayrı başlangıcı birlikte taşıyor.

Bu yıl hem 1986’dan bu yana süren 40 yıllık tasarım pratiğini hem de 1993’te kurulan şirketin 33. yılını kutluyoruz.

TTds Sketchbook, tam olarak bu çift tarihli hikâyenin ürünü.
Geçen yıl yenilediğimiz marka kimliğimizi, bu kez kullanıma açık, gündelik üretime eşlik eden bir nesneye dönüştürdük.

Bu sene de Atrax Fuarı’ndayık ve diğer senelerden farklı olarak de bize eşlik etti.
Bu birkaç gün boyunca fikirler paylaşıldı, sohbetler kuruldu, yeni bağlar oluştu. Yaklaşık yedi yıldır bu fuarda yer almak, peyzaj mimari tasarımının bir eğlence fuarında da ne kadar farklı, tematik ve yaratıcı biçimlerde var olabildiğini her seferinde yeniden deneyimlemek bizim için çok değerli.
Projeler, yayınlar ve masalar etrafında başlayan konuşmalar; Palmrock ve Palmex ürünlerimize, tasarımlarımıza duyulan ilgiyle birlikte yeni tanışmalara ve geleceğe dair ihtimallere dönüştü.
Tanışmak için gelen, ziyaret eden, paylaşan ve bağ kuran herkese içtenlikle teşekkür ederiz.

At XO Cape Arnna, material transitions, texture relations, and scale hierarchies form the foundation of the project’s outdoor design language. The edge solutions of shallow-water lounge areas, the rhythmic shifts between stone surfaces, the shadow patterns created by layered planting, and the timber roof structures all contribute to a cohesive spatial expression.
Every surface choice and junction detail was developed to create fluid circulation, a consistent atmosphere, and a strong dialogue with the surrounding landscape. The relationship between hardscape and planting, the tactile connection with water elements, and the structural character of shading components were shaped through micro-scale decisions that support overall user experience.
At XO Cape Arnna, details are not decorative; they are structural elements that define the function, comfort, and identity of each outdoor space.

XO Cape Arnna’nın dış mekân tasarımında, malzeme, doku ve ölçek ilişkileri büyük kurguyu taşıyan temel unsurlar olarak ele alındı. Sığ su içi oturma alanlarının kenar çözümleri, farklı taş kaplamaların ritmik geçişleri, bitkisel dokunun zeminle kurduğu gölge oyunları ve ahşap çatı strüktürlerinin katmanlı yapısı, projenin bütüncül tasarım dilini oluşturan ince detaylardan bazılarıdır.
Her yüzey seçimi ve her birleşim detayı, açık alanlarda akıcı bir dolaşım, tutarlı bir atmosfer ve doğal çevreyle güçlü bir bağ oluşturmayı hedefler. Sert zemin – bitki ilişkileri, su öğeleriyle kurulan temas ve gölgeleme elemanlarının strüktürel karakteri, kullanıcı deneyimini destekleyen mikro ölçekli tasarım kararlarıyla şekillendirilmiştir.
XO Cape Arnna’da detaylar, yalnızca estetik bir tamamlayıcı değil; mekânın işleyişini, konforunu ve kimliğini belirleyen yapısal birer bileşen olarak kurgulanmıştır.

5 Kasım günü, .mekan hâlâ bienalde sergilenirken biz TTds terasında kendi mini pavilyonlarımızı inşa ediyorduk.

’in ikincisini düzenlediği well mini urban thingd atölyesine yürütücülüğünde ev sahipliği yaptık.

Ofis dışından konuklarımız ve öğrenciler arkadaşlarımız da vardı, kısacası bol ıvır zıvırlı, bol kahkahalı, bol yaratıcı üretimle dolu bir gün oldu.

Katılımcıların her biri, gündelik hayattan topladığı küçük objelerle kendi masaüstü pavilyonunu tasarladı. Bir anda zımbalar, pipetler, kürdanlar, teller ve kahve karıştırıcılar yepyeni yapı sistemlerine dönüştü.

Bizim için bu atölye, Hem Mekan’ın temsil ettiği “birlikte üretme” fikrinin küçük ama çok keyifli bir uzantısıydı. Bienalde üretim destekçisi olduğumuz pavilyonumuz sergilenirken, bu kez herkes kendi pavilyonunu masa başında kurdu.

Yaratıcılığımızı masa başına taşıma fırsatı verdiği için Well Urban Things’e ve bizimle olan herkese çok teşekkürler.

Within the overall outdoor layout of XO Cape Arnna, a series of circular-plan restroom units were strategically positioned along the beachfront and open-use areas. These structures were designed by TTds through a multidisciplinary approach that integrates the scales of architecture, interior design, and landscape architectural design into a cohesive whole.
As a landscape architectural design studio, TTds not only developed the open-space framework of the project but also undertook the design of small-scale architectural structures, ensuring their spatial, material, and atmospheric harmony with the surrounding environment. This approach allowed the independent units, embedded within both the structural and planting layers of the landscape, to be read in the same design language.
Despite their compact scale, these circular structures establish a strong spatial presence within their context. Their curved walls, inner courtyard, and soft tonal transitions create a balanced dialogue with the tropical planting and the overall color palette of the outdoor environment. The pure geometry of each unit provides both a clear orientation and a fluid connection with the surrounding open spaces.
Inside, all wet-area surfaces, fixed furniture, fixtures, and detail solutions were designed by TTds. Curved vanities following the building’s form, continuous mirrors, and ceramic surface transitions create a smooth, flowing interior experience.
Finishes featuring glazed ceramic tiles with a handcrafted texture were applied in warm hues—orange, yellow, and earthy tones—to achieve a bright and inviting atmosphere. On the floor, black-and-white geometric patterns introduce a contrasting rhythm that defines the space’s visual identity.
These units stand not merely as functional service structures, but as micro-architectural elements that have
become part of the landscape architectural design, strengthening the character of the outdoor environment and contributing to the project’s holistic design narrative.

The entire outdoor furniture selection and placement at XO Cape Arnna were designed by TTds to align seamlessly with the overall project concept. The furniture was not conceived merely as complementary elements, but as active design components defining the circulation, user scenarios, and atmosphere of each space.
Each furniture group was specifically chosen according to the function, elevation, ground condition, and environmental context of its location. Daybeds and seating groups along the beachfront were positioned directly on the sand, creating relaxation zones that merge naturally with the texture of the landscape. Umbrellas used as shading elements were selected in various types and forms, each tailored to the spatial character of its respective area. In-water loungers and shallow seating platforms were designed to enhance the user’s direct interaction with water, using materials chosen with careful attention to drainage and water resistance.
High stools, bar counters, and side tables placed around the snack and beach bars define social hubs while articulating transitions across different levels. In open dining areas, table and chair groups were positioned in harmony with the surrounding hardscape, shaded planting elements, and overall landscape composition.
Material selection prioritized durability, ergonomics, and timelessness under environmental conditions such as sun, water, and wind. Materials like teak, metal, and textured fabrics were chosen for their longevity, providing both natural balance and visual simplicity throughout the outdoor setting.

Softscapes of XO. In the landscape design of XO Cape Arnna, planting was conceived not merely as an aesthetic layer but as a fundamental element shaping spatial identity, functionality, and seasonal dynamism.

Across different levels and usage scenarios, the planting layout was created by combining climate-adapted, resilient, and sustainable species. Tropical accents such as Strelitzia and banana plants were integrated with shade-providing trees, while aromatic shrubs, groundcovers, and species with varied flowering periods ensured that each micro-landscape carried its own unique planting texture.

Vegetation integrated into building facades softened architectural lines and created a natural transition; vertical planting decisions on balconies and terraces strengthened the users’ direct interaction with nature. At the entrances, Mediterranean species such as olive, cypress, and lavender were introduced, establishing a contextual sense of identity right from arrival.

Ultimately, the planting project of XO Cape Arnna became an expression of a contemporary, context-sensitive landscape approach—enriched by functional decisions and designed to generate diverse atmospheres for every space.
The planting applications and implementation on site were meticulously carried out by Tetikler Group .

The beachfront of XO Cape Arnna stands out with its functional diversity, designed to accommodate different user profiles. The coastal layout is not only about sunbathing and sea access; it also brings together social, gastronomic, and leisure experiences in a cohesive design.

The linear axis directs guests seamlessly towards the sea, while strategically placed snack bars, restaurants, and open seating areas enrich the coastal scheme. Expansive sunbed zones, cabanas, and shaded resting spots defined by palm trees offer users a variety of spatial experiences.

The planting design acts as more than an aesthetic layer; it provides shading, microclimate regulation, and spatial definition, enhancing the overall beachfront experience. Hardscape arrangements facilitate circulation while creating a strong orientation along the coast.

Blending sunset terraces, bar structures, and private seating islands, this coastal setup transforms the shoreline of XO Cape Arnna into a contemporary beachfront scenario that bridges recreation and social life.
