Restaurant “ZENFILDS”
LATVIA,2024

ZENFILDS is an architectural project for a restaurant that reimagines Japanese traditions through the lens of modern minimalism. Simplicity of form, natural materials, and harmony with nature are at the core of its design.

The main façade, featuring large circular windows, evokes the concept of enso — a symbol of completeness and inner balance central to Japanese culture. These elements create a visual connection between the restaurant’s interior and its surroundings, filling the space with natural light and a sense of openness.

ZENFILDS is more than just a restaurant — it is a space where architecture and nature come together in perfect rhythm, offering a unique setting to enjoy flavors inspired by Zen philosophy.

The corridors of the 8 Sense complex embody architectural minimalism, where form and light merge into a harmonious space. The smooth curves of the textured walls are accentuated by soft integrated lighting, creating a sense of infinity and fluid movement. The floor, paved with natural stone, enhances the tactile connection with nature, while the muted tones of the interior invite a meditative perception.

A central focal point is the infinity-shaped sculpture, seemingly floating within the space, emphasizing the philosophy of the complex. Functional elements, such as doorways and signage, are seamlessly integrated into the design, preserving its purity and completeness. This is a space that simultaneously inspires and soothes, reflecting an aesthetic of balance and sophistication.

EIGHT SENSE

Since ancient times, the arch has symbolized stability and protection — from the entrances of Roman aqueducts to the portals of Gothic cathedrals. In this project, it finds new life: each arched facade highlights the elegance of the building, framing green terraces transformed into personal gardens for residents.

Here, the arch is not just a form but a profound meaning, bridging history and the comfort of the future.

One of our key tasks was to create a complex that does not disturb the natural landscape but becomes an organic part of it. Green plantings are integrated into the architectural forms of the buildings, creating the effect of “green terraces” that seem to grow from the building itself. These terraces not only decorate the facades but also provide natural cooling, creating comfortable living conditions in the tropical climate.

The warmth of the wood under your fingers, the smooth surface of the desk, and the comforting texture of the fabrics all invite a sense of calm. A gentle breeze flows in through the slightly open glass door, carrying the scent of fresh air, while lush greenery outside feels like an extension of the room itself.

You sit on the bed — it’s soft, like a cloud, and the stillness around you wraps you in tranquility. The faint rustle as you lean back into the pillows, and the warmth of the wood beneath your hand at the desk, bring a sense of grounding and peace. This is a space where every detail breathes natural beauty and simplicity. You can feel tension slipping away, replaced by a deep inner calm and harmony✨
