Flaxseed oil is eaten and used in folk medicine. In German cuisine, cottage cheese with linseed oil is a dish originally from Lusatia, served with jacket potatoes. It is believed that this dish was part of the diet recommended to Hitler[2].
The pharmaceutical industry produces several dietary supplements of flaxseed oil for oral and external use. But long-term storage on the shelves of the store and pharmacies leads to rancidity of the oil (damage) in just 2 weeks. Oil should be eaten only freshly pressed, produced in small oil presses.
