Cockroaches are a wide spread nuisance in almost if not all homes. Once not checked, they spread so fast and wreck havoc not to mention the great deal of discomfort, and disease they bring with them in the house. Their wide range of diet from paper, food stuffs, clothes among other organic material means that they are never short of food ensuring their survival.
Here are some measures on can take keep the cockroaches at bay.
Keep the home especially the food storage areas like the kitchen clean and tidy. Food kept in tins should have the lids tightly closed and those in sacks and other storage containers should be properly closed so as not to attract the cockroaches to the food in them.
Food leftovers if not fit to eat should be properly disposed off and the small food particles like bread crumbs should be swept away and kept in the bins.
Close the sink drainage outlet to block and prevent cockroaches from crawling into the house through the drainage pipes from the septic tanks
Keep things in the house especially in the bedroom, garage clean and tidy, declutter the house to deny cockroaches dark breeding hideouts. Once in a while move and change the arrangement of things in the house so as to unsettle the cockroaches just incase they are already there.
Keep the garbage bins a safe distance of at least 10m away from the house and empty them frequently and properly cleaned out with disinfectants to discourage them from settling in the bins and crawling into the house. Incase of shortage of space, keep the bins away from the walls of the house.
