I’ve been working on adding more native perennials to the garden and planted seeds from Northwest Meadowscapes a couple of years ago.
I’m excited to see large-flowered collomia and self-heal finally making an appearance this spring.
Large-flowered collomia (Collomia grandiflora) is a native annual wildflower in the phlox family. It is sometimes called large-flowered mountain trumpets.
Self-heal (Prunella vulgaris) is a low-growing perennial in the mint family that is native to much of the Northern Hemisphere, including Washington. It gets its name (self heal or heal all) from all the medicinal properties the plant has.
