Meet the Builder:
Homes By Design / Jon Loudermilk

Constructing quality-built homes with beauty and elegance has been what Homes by Design has done here, in the Abilene area, for years. Jon is a second-generation builder growing up on construction sites with his father and working with construction crews in high school and college. Upon graduating from Stephenville High School, Jon attended Hardin-Simmons University where he was a two-time All-Conference defensive back for the Cowboys. Jon spent the next 15 years coaching football around the State of Texas before choosing to invest his time in the family business and community.

Attention to detail, communication, and strong customer service are the three areas where Homes by Design works to excel. Jon served two terms as President of the Big Country Home Builders Association and was named 2018Builder of the Year and 2018 Association of the Year. Jon and his homes have also been featured in the Builder of Excellence series. The Homes by Design team, which includes Miller Loudermilk (Design Coordinator) and David Presley (Project Manager) is a full design/build operation utilizing 3D imagery to create visual selections and reduce customer stress and time. Having the ability to walk through a home before construction has proven to not only reduce time and cost but provide comfort to the families during the process.

Jon and his family believe that being involved and giving back is one way they can show their gratitude to this amazing community. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors for the Big Country Home Builders Association, Jon is also a community group leader at Wylie United Methodist Church, a baseball coach for Wylie Little League, a member of the Board of Adjustments and Chamber of Commerce for the City of Abilene, and a Dude Crew member and past Chair for the Cattle Baron’s Ball.
