Here is one of our crew members “On watch” last night before snow started to fall. Here, he visits different parts of the greater Boston areas. These “on watch” employees leading up to the first snowflakes are reporting in start times for optimal snow and ice management on some of our 24-hour commercial sites. We take a proactive stance on snow and ice management for optimal safety for those communities we serve.

RD Landscape is looking for seasonal snow team members for the 2021 Snow season. Positions available are as follows Equipment operator, Truck operator, and sidewalk crew member. Equipment operator tasks include:
-Daily service checks.
-Communication with the site supervisor and other team members.
-Safe and professional operation of equipment.
-Ability to follow snow plans.
-Using a 6-14ft containment plow.
-Plowing roadways, parking spots, and loading docks.
-Snow relocation post-storm with a snow or dirt bucket.
-Assisting Sidewalk crew with loading dock and parking spot snow relocation.
-Poststorm maintenance checks and refilling of equipment.
Requirements: Driver's license, Hoisting license, Able to work in freezing conditions, Able to lift 50 pounds, Transportation to snow site, 3 Years of experience, Ready to learn.

Truck Operator tasks include:
-Daily service checks.
-Communication with the site supervisor and other team members.
-Safe and professional operation of the truck.
-Ability to follow snow plans.
-Using a 7-11 ft snowplow.
-Plowing roadways, parking spots, and loading docks.
-Salting drive lanes, parking spots, and loading docks.
-Assisting Sidewalk crew with loading dock and parking spot snow relocation.
-Poststorm maintenance checks and refilling of equipment.
Requirements: Valid Driver's license, Clean Driving record, Hold a vailed DOT Card, Able to work in freezing conditions, Able to lift 50 pounds, Transportation to snow site, 3 Years of experience, Ready to learn.

Sidewalk Crew Members Tasks:
-Following snow plan.
-Using a 2 stage snowblower, power broom, and leaf blower to clear sidewalks, stairs, pedestrian walking paths, handicap spots, and loading docks.
-Shovel areas not reached by power equipment like stairs, entrance ways, curb lines.
-Salting with a push spreader and salting by hand as needed.
-Communication with the site supervisor and other team members.
-Inventorying equipment and bags of salts.
-Toping off equipment as needed.
Requirements: Transportation to the site, Able to work in freezing and extreme winter conditions, Able to lift 50 pounds, Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously, willing to learn.

A Landscape Technician performs services such as Landscape Construction, lawn maintenance service, clean-ups, mulching, or plant/ shrub installation, and patio/walkway installations. Our Landscape Technicians work with a crew leader in a crew of up to 3 people.

At RD, everyone is challenged to be the best they can be! All team members will be trained to perform quality work and will be certified with the National Association of Landscape Professionals. We offer classes and tuition reimbursement for approved landscape or horticulture classes.

When hiring we look for team members who can display the following:

Landscape Crew Leader

A Landscape Management Crew Leader, is a working team member that oversees, our lawn maintenance crew which includes lawn mowing, clean-ups, mulching, pruning, trimming, fertilization, w**d control, planting of trees and shrubs, flower installation, leaf clean-ups, and similar tasks. Crew Leaders take the lead in a Crew of up to 2 persons.

All team members will be trained to work and will be certified with the National Association of Landscapers.

We are looking for team members with 2-3 years of experience that want to work in a professional environment and build a career in Landscape Maintenance and Construction. All Crew Leaders are training in managerial skills and based on performance are eligible for Field Supervisor positions.

When hiring we look for team members who can display the following:

Willingness to learn
Willing to work in a team environment
Must have Valid Drivers License
Has the ability to train their team members
Can pass a drug test
Can lift more than 50 pounds
Has the ability to work in working in extreme conditions (0-95 degree temps)
1-2 years working as Landscape Technician
