Reposting with Pride! From We did a cool thing.
Watch Best Medicine on Fox/Hulu and see your neighborhood florists work on screen during the final episode!
Big thanks to Diane Lederman and Lauren Crawford for trusting us to deliver.
The challenge was this was a two-day shoot that was shooting the same day it was prepping. This meant we had to get set at 5am meaning we were up and loading up vehicles at 4am. The color scheme was green and white with accents of navy. Apart from the color scheme and budget, the set decorating team gave us free rein! We pitched mini arrangements in frogs, sculptural, drapey design and funky bud vases.
It feels important to note that we were able to design the florals for this two-day shoot with , chicken wire and floral frogs. Not a lick of floral foam in sight! Proving yet again, longevity of your flowers doesn’t need to come at the expense of the environment 🤷‍♀️ So to @-africa- for hustling and designing during those early morning call times!!

OSHUN Pouch is REUSABLE for replenishing depleted soil through COMPOSTING.
You can also reuse the contents of the pouch as a PLANTING medium and simply toss the empty pouch into the home COMPOST. Garden beds impress when top dressed with the contents of the Pouch and the empty pouch is simply tossed into the COMPOST.
If you don’t reuse OSHUN Pouch for design work in a vessel or in these other situations then you are missing out on the potential of this game changing product.
The Daffodil thanks you for reading this message 🌞

Not just a pretty picture.
The Combination of organic plant material and plastic free hydrated OSHUN Pouch is all you need for a sustainable and regenerative floral design.
Perfect for meadow garden installations and actually good for the planet!
Make no mistake—this OOAK design mechanic is in a class of its own and TüV Austria certified Home Compostable. Because the Inventor of OSHUN Pouch wouldn’t have it any other way.
We work hard so you don’t have to 🌱💚

The rare “Black Mamba “ growing in reused OSHUN Pouch.
We get asked often if OSHUN Pouch is reusable. YES it is!!! Our first choice for reuse of this OOAK floral design mechanic is for plants and growing.
You can also use it to top dress your garden plants and suppress weeds with style. The home compost is where the most earth friendly reuse is done—the pouch rapidly breaks down and restores depleted soils and becomes the gorgeous compost that so many spend big bucks on at the garden store.
Good stuff!!!

When hydrating your OSHUN Pouches, consider strategically prepoking to create a template for your stems.
By inserting stems in the holes you made for water uptake, you will essentially seal the hole and prevent water from escaping through them, which will help with longevity.
Tender little stems will love this help too!

We hope you all enjoyed working with regenerative OSHUN Pouch during Madrid Blooms 2026 and we thank them for including us as their Sustainable Partner !
The sound of a 5x5 during hydration.
When this happens it means the pouch is pulling in water and growing and it feels good to listen to. The snap crackle and pop will stop, signaling the pouch is no longer taking up water.
After hydration let the pouch Rest and continue to meld and expand. Excess water will be absorbed reducing runoff and optimum expansion and Hold will be achieved.

How To Begin your Sustainable Floristry Journey READ THIS 👇 Repost from

This account began its life 8 years ago - this day in 2017.

Earlier that year, a marine scientist from the University of Melbourne in Australia expressed his horror when I told him about how floral foam is used and how it makes its way into nature so easily.

At that time, the subject of microplastics and their impact on the environment was starting to gain more attention.

Two years later, a group of scientists from RMIT University in Melbourne published a paper on the impacts of floral foam on aquatic invertebrate animals. They showed that animals consume the foam, and that the material leaches harmful chemicals into water. A couple of years later, these results were duplicated by a group of scientists in Lithuania.

Consuming plastic can harm animals in multiple ways.

The only way to tackle the plastic pollution crisis is to turn off the tap - starting with the worst types of plastic, like fragmentable floral foam.

The point of this account was to raise awareness about the material, and share alternative design approaches. If you look back through the posts, you’ll find loads of tips for floral design without foam.

It has been incredible to watch how this movement has developed. But it has been sad to see the use of foam justified for the sake of creating “art”. Making art, especially as a celebration of nature, comes with responsibilities. On a fragile planet, and in the face of multiple environmental crises, if the creation of something is polluting or known to be wasteful and damaging, then how can it be called art?

Flowers are special. They are important to humans. They can connect us to nature. But we need to make sure that our enjoyment of them doesn’t harm nature in the process.

May your 2026 be filled with flowers that don’t cost our Earth. Please follow for facts about floristry and building a more sustainable industry 🌏💚
