Imagine this: you design a new kitchen for the house, select the colors, it arrives, worker install it... and you find the color is wrong and it is driving your spouse crazy. Brilliant idea: you call Beautiful Finish. We spray painted these cabinet to match Sherwin Williams "Iron Ore" after carefully checking the shade passed muster with the customer. And they loved it.

Not all projects have to be big and fancy. This vanity was in a well maintained space and just needed a fresh coat of paint. The owner chose Benjamin Moore Whale Gray... one of our favorites. And what a difference from the stained brown look. No walls torn down, nothing thrown out or replaced, just a modern look for a bathroom that was already functional and well laid out. Why not make good better?

Would you believe that this kitchen was stained, dark and had doors and drawers that banged shut just a few weeks back? Professionally spray painted (not brushed) with an environmentally friendly, durable conversion varnish they now have a light, contemporary feel. Benjamin Moore "Pelican Gray" is one of our favorite colors and we were delighted when the customer selected it. Handles and k***s from Raybern Hardware in Charlestown. Despite the world's supply chain woes, the manager installed special soft close slides for a thick walled cutlery drawer box the same day the customer asked him for it. Soft close hinges all around were a given. We replaced a rusty old creaky trash unit with the best on the market pull-out waste bin featuring solid maple wood constructions sitting on soft close slides that give some ergonomic grace to the space adding just a pinch of pleasure for everyday chores.

The look on the homeowners' faces was priceless after they saw their old kitchen cabinets with a new look. Spray painted with Dover White and punctuated by black k***s and pulls, they could hardly recognize what was before their eyes. If you swipe right and see what it used to look like, you will get an idea of the transformation. Even though the customer had to postpone the project due to COVID disruptions, Beautiful Finish LLC flexibly worked with them to make their vision a reality in a timely fashion. After already having expanded the scope of the project at the last minute, the homeowners' only question when we were done was when we could come back to do more. Possible new projects in the home include painting their vanity and new soft close, full extension drawer slides.

3 new colors, 37 new doors, 11 new drawer fronts. Benjamin Moore Simply White, Black Jack, and Kendall Charcoal. After all that, just the hidden hinges had an outsized role in giving this kitchen a new lease on life for this older kitchen. (Our competitors were cheaper but wouldn't dare attempt to put in new inset doors sized 3/32" gaps let alone touch the hinging system). What was dated and speckled with creeky hardware now has clean, uninterrupted lines and the modern ergonomics with soft close hinges.

This was a large project: we installed new cabinet doors (solid wood and glass), multiple soft close hinging systems, and sprayed 3 different colors. But tucked into this corner was the result of a lot of careful planning, communication with the customer, installation, integration of disparate colors, and trim pieces carefully milled to accommodate out of square older walls. The new corner cabinets integrate seamlessly with the crown above, brick on one side side and door frame on the other. The base cabinet houses a small beverage refrigerator below and while the upper cabinet sports special pocket-hinge sliding doors above. Durable conversion varnish finish in Benjamin Moore Kendall Charcoal.

Can you believe this kitchen used to be yellow? Spray painted with a wood finish tinted to Benjamin Moore Simply White, the update gave the kitchen a new lease on life. The feeling of spaciousness, cleanliness, and a contemporary look gave the homeowner and her family what felt like a brand new place. There is something about being comfortable in your own home that is irreplaceable. Preparing food together, enjoying meals as a family, nourishing kids and seeing them grow... it starts in the kitchen.

Aren't we all looking for a light at the end of the tunnel these days? We may help you with your wait by updating your kitchen and thereby leaving you with a clean and hygienic space. As far as the kitchen pictured, I am biased. This was my favorite project that we have ever done. It was not a large, showcase house. And my amateur photos--taken before we finished all the details--don't really show the extent of the transformation that took place. But I don't know that we have ever seen such a drastic change between before (swipe to last image) and after (first two images) our intervention. The kitchen was crumbling and had to have a lot of the wood frame under the sink rebuilt and buttressed with mahogany supports...and there were not even cabinet bottoms! (Stored items were sitting on the room's floor.) You could not see from the kitchen into the living room as the side of the hanging upper cabinet pictured had glass doors on one side... but not the other! The room went from claustrophobic to feeling spacious. It went from a consumer grade Pepto Bismol pink with drips and brush marks to a professionally sprayed precatalyzed lacquer in Benjamin Moore Decorator's White. The old pulls were awkwardly located on the outgoing doors while the new hardware was precision set in an ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing location. A perhaps 50 year old kitchen in which every cabinet was out of square and irregular became orderly and contemporary. All flat and dull faces gave way to attractive panel raises and decorative edge treatments. Soft close hinges all around and a happy customer. Happy and safe Thanksgiving to all!
