Short term exposure to Particulate Matter and Co2 levels common in office buildings (not to mention our poorly ventilated homes) is directly linked to an acute decrease in cognitive function.

How to solve:

1. Get an air quality monitor from Airthings, watch your Co2 and Particulate Matter. (get the View Plus)

2. Watch your air quality over the course of a month.

3. After the month is up, send me an email with a screenshot of the 30 day data range ([email protected])

4. I'll figure out where your air quality issues are coming from, and find a solution for you. The answer to your problems will likely be a combination of ventilation, and filtering, but the trick is knowing when, where, how, and how much!

It's hard to overstate the importance of fresh air ventilation, and in-home air filtration.

I have solutions to these problems, let me help!! (in like, a month tho, I'm pretty busy right now)

Soup has a higher thermal mass than the water/glycol mixture that is typically found in snow melt systems.

Newer technology has helped a lot here- Chicken Noodle doesn't flow the same as Tomato! Variable speed ECM circulator pumps are the perfect ingredient, making this whole project a recipe for success!

The importance of maintenance can certainly be overstated, as it often is used by more predatory local establishments as a reason to get into your house to sell you something.

Maintenance does pay off however, as you can see from the leaking water heater (found while working on furnace), and the leaking furnace exhaust.

CO (carbon monoxide) and other products of combustion (particulate matter, VOC's etc) love trying to get out and cause harm, we gotta keep them locked in. Shame on the installing contractor for slipping this exhaust pipe into the socket with no concern for leaks.

Prior to starting my own company, I didn't consider how lonely self-employment can be. As a result, laughing and joking around with a work buddy or two isn't something I've had consistent access to for the last four years.

I will say however, my homies at Johnstone Supply Muskegon Group always make me feel apart of the cool kids club when I walk in, which helps fill that work-friend-shaped hole in my lil mechanical contractor heart.

In addition to that, I've also recently found satisfaction in working side by side with other small fry operations like myself.

Building a network of trusted tradespeople is incredibly important. Iron sharpens iron, baby!

If you're on propane, it's a no-brainer (sorry Hank)
If you're on natural gas, it starts to become cheaper to heat your home when it's 45-ish outdoor temps. The formula for calculating cost-efficiency involves utility rates for gas & electricity, and the COP of each piece of equipment

There are still rebates, and tax incentives available for efficient HVAC technology- at long last I'm taking the time to engross myself in the bureaucratic process.
