The price of a good bird dog is a broken heart at the end 💔

It is with immense sadness that I share that our beloved bird dog, Hank, passed away last week, just shy of his 12th birthday.

Hank spent his days sunbathing in the flower rows, trotting faithfully beside my wagon as I filled the stand, and laying at my side while I arranged vases — countless vases spilled (and a few enthusiastically sampled). He greeted visitors as if they were old friends and made The Pointer’s Pick feel like more than just a flower stand. He was the inspiration behind the name.

If you knew our family, you undoubtedly knew Hanky.

It will feel strange to be without him this season — and every season going forward. But we will continue to fill the stand, and in doing so, honor our favorite pointer.

I’m entirely too emotional to post some of our favorite memories of Hank, maybe in time I will, but for now here is a quick snapshot of what I think life in Heaven looks like for our ‘ol man. I pray he’s in a field full of birds with a smile on his face. ‘Atta boy Hanky 🤍

That’s a wrap on the 2025 growing season and all I can say is THANK YOU!!! 🤍🤍🤍

Thank you for trusting me with your baby showers, birthday parties, funeral arrangements, wedding, birthday florals, your get well soon gifts, teacher gifts, promposals, your weekly pick me up, etc. Whatever your reason was for stopping by or reaching out to make a specific arrangement specifically for you, we appreciate you.

This is an honor I have not taken lightly and I so value your decision to trust me to help you. The notes you left have been amazing to read and have encouraged me to keep spreading joy any way I can.

This is the first year we started seeds indoors, the first we actually grew annual flowers with a purpose, the first year we bought and planted dahlia tubers despite my initial concern over upfront costs. We had an abundance of things go wrong, but learned so much for next season. Thankfully, enough went right that we could share so many beautiful blooms with all of you!

Follow mother nature’s lead and rest this winter, we will see you next spring. Bigger and better my friends 🤍🤍🤍

last minute change of plans had me scrambling to attempt my very first funeral arrangement, one I truthfully wasn’t ready to face. I’m grateful that I was able to honor my great aunt and am so happy with how this untraditional spray turned out.

Besides the eucalyptus, I was able to use all flowers that I grew! Flowers that I had driven her by throughout the entire growing season. Seems fitting that those flowers, the very ones that came with such great words of encouragement from Dee, ended up being placed next to her at her final resting place.

I love you so much Dee, and I know you’d get such a kick out of this story if I could have told you in person. It only seems fitting.
