Gainesville/Alachua friends: I have a bunch of Genovese Basil plugs available. I’m bringing them to the Farmers Market on Main Street-Alachua (on Main Street next to Bev’s Burgers in Downtown Alachua, FL) this Saturday (June 13th) from 9:00am-1:00pm.

Who wants some? Just $1 per plug. 🌿

Perfect time to put them in a pot or in ground to grow all summer! Mine are doing great!

We love it for tea, pesto, pizza, pasta sauces, etc!

This year I want to create a little retreat in the garden where I can just sit out here with a drink and relax and take in nature. Time in the garden is always well spent. I’m feeling called to do more of that now that I’m in my 40s. 😅🙏🏽😍

Plucked a bulb of elephant garlic out to check where we are at. Looks good so far but I don’t think they are quite ready. Gonna leave the rest some extra time. 🧄😍

Gardening is a game of never ending experiments! 😅 Here’s what I learned with this zucchini experiment:
🌱 Start zucchini plants earlier (March)
🌱 Plant them in full sun
🌱 Don’t try to push them into June because the plants will decline rapidly in our hot and humid climate.

Wild to see how the same plants can grow so differently just 20ft away from each other right?! I love showing the visuals so you can see the difference!

So much fun! It can feel overwhelming at first but just keep planting and you’ll learn along the way! 👍🏽🌱

This is a Chou Cheh Red Watermelon variety that I’ve growing several times. I saved the seeds back in 2021 and am still using them with great germination rates. Yay! 🙌🏽🙏🏽

This is my first time growing it up my cattle panel arch trellis. I have them mixed in with my yard long beans. Hoping the added height and space allows for some good ventilation during our hot and humid summer. 😬😅

And I just realized that female flower had already been open. It was closing back up when I filmed this! 😅

Every morning I start my day in the garden. ☀️🪏🌱 Today I was weeding around the plants mostly but I also started some seeds. The pumpkins, zucchini, watermelon and yard long beans are flowering so lots of yummy food coming soon!

If it’s before 9am everyone in my house knows where to find me- in my happy place! 🥰
