We built a tiny home for our client's older mother to move into, here's why:

Retirement homes were too overpriced for the lifestyle they gave

Because it wasn't close to family, and the care is subpar unless you choose the ones that cost a successful person's salary

With grandkids, having a grandparent close by is extremely valuable

So with the help of our crew, our client had us build this tiny home in her backyard

We designed with her, handled the logistics, and took the stress off her shoulders during the construction process

Now her mom has her own space for her and the part time caretaker she'll hire

Surprisingly, this is a cheaper option

With the right financing, the monthly cost is lower

And an ADU is an asset that holds its value when you sell the property

And if you ever end up not using it, you can rent it out to make a passive return from it as well

Today I made a mistake when building an addition for a client, here's how we fixed it...

My crew was in Clayton working on this home addition when all of a sudden my phone starts buzzing

I respond immediately of course.

"Hey cash! this window was supposed to be built facing the backyard, not the front!"

I get a little cold chill..

but now not only do I need to fix the problem,

I need to put my client in a better situation then they were before this happened

First we talked things out and made sure there were no other problems in the blueprints or plan.

Thankfully, it was just this one window.

So we fixed the window, but then also paid for both windows
(the wrong window & and the window that was supposed to be built)

It was a win win,

I fixed a problem

And they got a free window

I didn't argue, I communicated

Mistakes are guaranteed to happen every now and then

it's how you respond to them that matters

We did some simple carpet upgrades in the veranda escape room, and it made it look a lot better. It's the little things like this that can make a disproportionate difference, the old carpet was aged and stained.
