***BUSINESS UPDATE***

As some of you are already aware, Friday was our last day in business! I have accepted a position with another company that will ensure our family of 6 has quality healthcare and other benefits that we were lacking running our own business.

It's been a pleasure to serve the Albany and surrounding areas this past year, and we look forward to doing so in other ways. Additionally, we will continue to operate our new junk removal business with the help of another partner, so please be sure to follow Hub City Junk Removal!

My family and I can not say thank you enough for the incredible support from our family, friends, and the entire community over this past year, which has allowed us to ensure we always had food on the table and a roof over our head. I am so grateful for all of you!

Today marks 21 years since the horrific events of 9/11/2001. As a veteran owned company this day always hits hard for us.

In many ways over the past few years it feels the country is more divided than ever. It feels hopeless. It feels like we will never get back to truly being The ‘United’ States. But once a year, we’re reminded.

We’re not only reminded of the lives lost on this day, but we’re reminded of the lives lost by all of our brothers and sisters in arms every day since. The ones that took the fight to the enemy and paid the ultimate sacrifice.

We also remember the brave heroes, many of them members of the NYPD and FDNY, that ran into the fray, risking their own lives to save the lives of their fellow Americans. We remember how America came together during this tragic time, and we were truly The ‘United’ States.

And that gives us hope. Hope that no matter what side of the political aisle you are on, no matter what the color of your skin, economic status, age, gender or religion, we can come together as a country again to support each other in hopes of a better life. Where we can help each other in our goal to pursue life, liberty, and happiness, whatever that looks like for you as an individual.

So today is our reminder. It’s our reminder to work hard, and never to take life or our loved ones for granted. It’s our reminder to treat others the way you want to be treated.

Most importantly, it’s our reminder to never forget.

I would like to introduce my wife, Lindsey, and I. We started a family owned and operated handyman business called Jake’s Handyman Solutions doing business in Albany and surrounding areas.
Both myself and Lindsey grew up in the Willamette Valley and are U.S. Navy veterans. We are also parents to 4 young children, and active in the Albany and surrounding communities.
We started Jake’s Handyman Solutions last November with the goal of disrupting a traditional industry by bringing customer service and excellent communication to the forefront of everything we do. Since then, we've exceeded our goal and that has given us the opportunity to expand our business with hiring another technician meaning even better and quicker service from us.
