We are back! The trip and project we did in Holden Village was absolutely fantastic. Everything from the atmosphere, the people, the family environment and the project itself was euphoric. Our dedicated story link follows. And now we are in the process of booking our schedule and getting back to the many people who graciously waited for our return to the area. Thanks for your patience and enjoy the story. https://vintagewindowrestorationllc.com/holden-village-restoration-renovation-replacement/

Here is some work we did just before leaving for our big multi-month project. The front and back windows of this Fraternity House in Corvallis were very damaged and we needed to restore and rebuild them. Next is the rear facade view of main floor before and after restoration. This was an end of the year project story with some nice historical work to share with the local community. We restored the second floor windows for the Astoria Odd Fellows Building. For those who did not know, it was the first building the community chose to rebuild in 1923 after a fire devastated the entire town. So neat to be a part of the restoration efforts from the area I was born and raised. Even neater to be able to recall being a young boy taking classes in the great room and numerous times walking by the building. Come check out what we did and pass along your Likes, Comments and Shares to support a huge win for the community. Thanking everyone for all their support and Warmest Wishes for 2021. Excited to share some great projects we are in the middle of and will be back soon.

The Astoria Odd Fellows Building Restoration project received a major nationwide competitive grant. See how this historic building was transformed.

Something unique that I found in the photo album to share as we work on the website. This was a stained glass cleaning and stabilization project. The piece is original to the Salem Elks Lodge, at one point sold to someone in California. After a time, it was re-discovered and the Salem Elks re-collected. I built a new frame for stability and renewed the glass piece. A delicate process and the fact it's a Povey Brothers original, well, no pressure....

The Guardhouse located in Ft. Stevens State Park in Hammond Oregon is another current undertaking that has been a personal desire to restore for nearly a decade as I studied Historic Preservation. The structure served as a jail on the military base dating about 1911 till 1946. I recall seeing it in my youth as we would play around the park to look at the buildings, ride bikes on the paths, and surf off shore. Parts of me wonders if my grandfather Duane did basic training at Ft. Stevens prior to being deployed to Japan at the tail end of the War. What ever the case, It's a place I feel connected to in many different aspects and I feel fortunate and strongly rewarded for the skills I have developed and practiced on a daily basis to be trusted in contributing to it's longevity, the building deserves the best and I hope to stand with it. and yah, it is a torrential downpour with high winds in the photo..... typical Coast in January.

Alright, nothing like going back to your home town to start a fun project. This season I'll be restoring the second floor windows to the Astoria Odd Fellows building. The recipients won a very generous grant which made my job possible. There is alot to do and I will do my best to post as I move along. Cheers!

Good Greif, nothing posted since September? What have I been up to, nothing short of a lot with hardly any photos to show for it.... Oh well, maybe I'll do better for the next three months. I'll put up some photos of my up and coming project happening in my hometown of Astoria!
