Here’s an EGGciting treat: I haven’t been doing my usual cooking and photographing but I was going to post my egg dish. Then I tasted this dish my son made me and had to showcase my son’s steak and egg dinner.
Steak, guac and the star of the dish:
⭐️honey cheesy flowy fried eggs⭐️
Mind blown, palette blown in a good way.
Surprisingly a transformative taste especially from making the eggs in the steak pan and then the honey and light cheese. Fantasizing about some chili crunch on there as well.

Lemongrass chicken and cellophane noodles might just get me back to cooking again. I haven’t cooked much or with presentation in mind since I’ve been fully immersed in frosting, icing, planning, testing, business, legal, packaging, labeling, photographing, marketing, and the list goes on. But back to dinner, I made soy eggs (not pictured) that was supposed to go with a bowl of ramen that didn’t happen. The lemongrass chicken thighs and cellophane noodles came together like the easiest, laziest best dish ever. Ingredients: Fish sauce or seasoning sauce (2 tbsp or 2 second pour), Soy sauce (3 tbsp or 3 second pour), lemon grass paste (2-3 inches of tube squeeze), sugar (2 ish tbsp), water, small chopped onion, a few tbsp garlic minced (or 4 cloves). I would have used scallion but only had onion, subbed parsley for cilantro, jar garlic for real. I didn’t have high hopes yet it was great—a delicious dish that you can make without a single measure. Marinate, air fry (took about 30 minutes + to get to desired exterior crispiness). I used some marinade in the noodles to give it a hint of flavor. I barely had enough counter-space to take the photo but it felt good for a change to make a tasty dinner that looked nice plated. I’d love to know what all of you choose as a “go to”dish that somehow comes together with no effort. Please share it in the comments😊

Had my first pop-up for the Frosting Factory the Capital Roots Good Food Market. What a a fun couple of days with friends and new customers! I am in royal icing and cookie mode. Anyone local in the 518 need last minute royal icing or sugar cookies, natural or colored icing, message me. I’m available for last minute cookies or icing. Lots of mini icing, sprinkle samplers and mini cookies and mini decorating kits for stocking stuffers.

Today is the day I can finally share the news, just in the nick of time (yeah I know it’s a little late but 🤷🏻‍♀️). 🍪🍪🍪✨ After years of baking, decorating and sharing the joy of various dishes and treats with you all, I’m thrilled to announce my next big adventure: Frosting Factory! 🎉 We’re all about artisan preservative- and additive free royal icing, small-batch quality, and cookie-decorating fun. All products are made at Capital Roots Commercial Kitchen. Vegan is available and organic is in the works! Our first-ever pop-up launches next week, and I’d love your support! Virtual and in person if you’re local.
