Needing a basket of beauty to take you through the heat of the summer? These purslane baskets will do just that and are beautiful!

I’ve mixed combinations in twos of Peachy Cream, Jumbo Apricot, and Jumbo Yellow to create these baskets. In the mornings, the little petals open towards the sun and then later on, they close up. A lady yesterday told me, “These are the prettiest purslane she has ever seen!” The leaves have shades of pinks, and I don’t know if it’s because I’ve done something right or done something wrong 🤣 but, regardless, they are beautiful. I have 7 left.

$15 each

Would love to see you today!

🌸Bright Eyes always gets me! I love to watch her bloom! When full grown, she towers to 2-3 feet and is covered with the clusters of these pink flowers. Mine in our garden is so full this year and growing and blooms will be coming soon! I can’t wait! I have lots of fresh quarts of her in the nursery just now blooming. I have a whole pile of beautiful pink and purple and coral color phloxes all tucked near the trees. They are mad at me…but on sale! Y’all have had fun rummaging around back there seeing how you could save. Feel free to come and rummage! Those back there are at a deep discount!

🦋Have you been looking for butterfly w**d? I have some! I had unsuccessfully and, now, successfully have some ready! These are Asclepias tuberosa and are a drought-tolerant perennial native to North America, famed for its brilliant clusters of orange to yellow flowers. I know how important they are as a host plant for monarch butterfly caterpillars, so I’m thrilled to have some for you. It thrives in full sun and POOR, well-draining soils, making it an excellent, deer-resistant choice for pollinator gardens. Did you notice I emphasized poor? It doesn’t like growing right here in the nursery where I tend, and tend, and sometimes, over-tend. I finally just put it out under the trees and let it go and grow! I was shocked to see it growing!

I also have a few Milkmaid butterfly w**d plants recovering. The roots were good, and after something came and ate all the leaves early on, I also tucked these away and they are growing! I love that…”Let the root be good🙌” another day…we can “Meet in the Garden” about that❤️

These Milkmaid are “a specific cultivated variety of butterfly w**d or Asclepias tuberosa known for its striking, creamy white flowers. While classic butterfly w**d is famous for its vibrant orange blossoms, the Milkmaid variety offers a softer, ivory-toned look while keeping all the beneficial pollinator-friendly qualities.”

Come and get yours and get it in that poor dirt and leave it alone! Water it when it’s dry to get it established, and after that, it’s good to GROW!🌱❤️🦋

🌱😋Gauging Interest😋🌱

A friend I met through the herbs last year came to visit this spring to get some new herb plants. Some of the ones Joyful Blooms planted had been sitting there growing…they had looked like fun and pretty plants to grow and the seeds came in the medicinal and culinary herb packs I had bought to grow. Things like “Summer Savory” and “Marjoram” and “Lovage”….”Curled Chervil”…I thought, “How even do you say them much less what to do with them?”

Well, she just bee-bopped right over and started getting what she wanted…I asked her what she used this one for…”oh, to season our steaks” and this one, “oh, that is for the chicken”…on and on and I got hungrier by the second 😋 then, I had an idea…y’all know I’m a visionary…practical, no, visionary, yes! I asked if she would be interested in teaching a cooking class on how to grow and use some of these wonderful culinary herbs. She just smiled like that’s exactly what she would like to do. So, here we are!

She brought Denea and I the most delicious and beautiful lunch yesterday. She made chicken and an herb rice and a salad…garnished with those sunshiny calendula flowers! It was beautiful and so good.

We are thinking of offering a class this fall where she can share how she uses a few of these culinary herbs. Would this be something that would interest you?

If so, please give me some feedback as to what day, time, herbs, if you are interested…anything you may want to know as we prayerfully move forward in working together ❤️🌱😋

Thanks!

We will be here today! We’d love to see you! I keep walking past the stonecrop sedum I planted last year…it’s so full and has buds all over it. Need something that will stand this drought and heat? THIS plant will! It’s a later bloomer and when it pops, it will bloom until frost and be great plant for those pollinators in the mid-summer to late-summer. I have some with purple shades on their leaves and dark pink blooms…these are proven winner’s gallons of

And these that bloom a light pink color. Their leaves feel hard and waxy being in the sedum family. They get so full and beautiful!

Y’all have put a dent in the $5 plants, but there are still lots more!

Hummingbird Mint
Daisies
Coreopsis
Rudbeckia
Gaura

🌱🌼❤️SALE❤️🌼🌱

This has been an incredible spring. So many new faces and friendships budding…people stopping after their friends, family, and colleagues told them about us. So many smiles, so many happy faces finding the plants that will bring them JOY in their garden spaces…so many prayers and words of encouragement. It’s been a FULL spring!

The boys laid our new fabric yesterday to prepare the way for the mums that will be planted in two weeks…yes, TWO weeks! How did it get here so fast? I love growing mums…it’s one of my favorite plants to grow from the baby to the grown up…when those buds start forming and the anticipation of the beautiful colors…how they break and heal…oh, I’ve learned so much the last three years in the mum patch❤️

But NOW, as our spring season is winding down in the next few weeks, it’s time to start re-potting and trimming back, and getting everyone happy again and out of the smaller pots they are growing out of. We still have a large inventory of some particular plants and thought I could help us both by putting them on sale. Y’all bought a lot, but we’ve grown a lot 🤣🌱❤️These quart pots are now $5 each🙌

Hummingbird Mint (orange, yellow, lavender, red) still so beautiful!
Rudbeckia…Indian Summer and Cappuccino
Coreopsis…Solar Jewel, Nana, a surprise that’s almost blooming, and Ruby Frost
Gaura…Steffi White, Graceful Light Pink, and Graceful Magic
Daisies: Lucille Grace, Lucille White, and a surprise!

All while they last!

These are some pictures of them growing in my garden. It’s amazing how full and big and happy they are once their roots have room to grow 🌱❤️
