We have received a lot of water in our areas over the last few weeks and this is going to cause some problems. If you need help with knowing exactly where the water in your home has gone to, I can help with that. Water on our floors will wick upwards into drywall and studs and knowing how high you need to go to get rid of it will help greatly as you repair your home. Spring is a great time to take a look around your homes foundation for low areas. Many people experience moisture in the their basements and many times it could be due to lower spots around the foundation. A little dirt to create a slope away from lower areas can certainly help with this.

Our temperatures haven't reminded us yet but winter is coming soon and this time of year is a great time to winterize your homes. This can save you a large sum of money on your energy costs. Caulking and using weather stripping can be a huge help, even if you have newer windows and doors! Pocket that money instead of wasting it!

Spring is a great time to do things around the outside of the house. Check for low areas around the foundation as it will be very easy to see without grass and weeds being so thick right now. Clean or check your gutters before the Spring rains, check your extensions to make sure water is going to flow away. These are just a couple to help your Spring get off to a nice start.

Winter can be hard on furnaces and some precautions should be taken. Newer high efficient type furnaces have vent pipes that usually are run out the sides of the home just above the ground. These pipes can carry condensation in them and it can freeze. It’s very wise to check this during colder months because ice could possibly completely freeze the exhaust pipe causing carbon monoxide to backup into the home.

This can be a great time to have your home checked with a Thermal Imaging Inspection. There will be days when the exterior temperatures are above freezing, causing melting, which may be able to be picked up with the camera. It not only can find moisture that other devices may not be able to, it also con find air gaps around windows & doors, locate falling or missing insulation and many other things in the home.
