Sometimes the things we complain about taking care of are the exact things we once prayed for. The house. The family. The car. The opportunities. Even the mess that comes with a full life.

Maybe we don’t always need more. Maybe sometimes we need to take better care of what we already have and recognize when enough is enough.

I get to take care of the life I prayed for.

Had a mountain of laundry to do, so naturally I cleaned trash cans I haven’t cleaned in years, took apart my bathroom lights to wash them, and washed the walls. 😂 literally I will do anything before I do laundry. There’s always tomorrow.

“I don’t know” is a perfectly acceptable answer… as long as it’s followed by “so how do I figure it out?” Whether it’s something in your house that doesn’t have a home, paperwork you don’t understand, or a problem you don’t know how to solve—doing nothing doesn’t make it go away. “I don’t know” can be the beginning of the answer. It just can’t be the end.

I love the IKEA ALEX drawers for organizing all the random “junk drawer” stuff that never seems to have a real home or any of your craft supplies. I added these drawer fronts from Etsy so it looks more like a piece of furniture—and now everything has a place without being out on the counter. Here’s what I keep in mine!

Before birthdays or Christmas, we purge toys because I already know more are coming in. My kids have a set amount of space for toys, and once it’s full, they have to decide what they’re willing to exchange for something new. We don’t rotate toys, and they’re only allowed one large toy at a time. It’s okay for kids to get bored—they can draw, read, use their imagination or go outside. My house does not need to become one giant toy box. 😂

11 years married and we don’t buy each other gifts. Not because we don’t celebrate each other—we just realized we’d rather spend that money making memories together. If I want something, I’ll buy it. If he wants something, he’ll buy it. No pressure to find the “perfect” anniversary, birthday, Christmas, or Valentine’s gift just because the calendar says we should. Give me a trip, an experience, or a day together over another thing in the house any day. 😂❤️ It might not work for everyone, but it works for us. Happy 11 years to us!

A linen closet doesn’t have to hold ONLY linens. 🙌 Give everything a category, keep what you use most within easy reach, put less-used items up high or down low, and don’t buy a container for something that already stacks perfectly fine on its own. The goal isn’t more bins—it’s making the space make sense for your family.

These little magnetic remote holders are one of those “why didn’t I buy these sooner?” organizing finds. 😂

I showed all the different ways I use them because remotes are definitely not the only thing they’re good for. Anything small that constantly gets lost, left on the counter, or never has a real home? Give it a home.

Small fix, less clutter, less searching. 🙌
