Alief Community Garden

Alief Community Garden Plot size is 4' x 20' and rent for $5/month. For availability, please email [email protected]. In September 2011, the community built 30 raised beds.

The Alief Community Garden was created in 2011 by the International Management District in partnership with the Alief Super Neighborhood Council. The land is leased from the Alief Independent School District. As of March, 2021, we have 85 beds. Gardeners pay $5 a month for plot rentals; they are required to contribute 15 hours per year per plot to help maintain the garden area including paths and

the beneficial flower garden. The site also includes: an orchard won in a contest sponsored by Dreyer Corporation; a tree farm; a compost bin; a Monarch butterfly habitat, a pavilion sponsored by SPARK Park and built by students from the University of Houston Graduate School of Architecture, and a certified Little Library. The International Management District holds two events per year at the garden site. A kite festival is held in the spring and the Fall Festival is held the second week-end in October. Let's pray for each other and all of those affected by hurricane Helene today & incoming Milton because prayers are needed right now.
