🌳 Happy Chris Brown Day in the City of Allentown! 🌳

We’re proud to celebrate our Principal Landscape Architect, Chris Brown, for his incredible impact on our community. Through his leadership and passion, Chris has helped implement street tree projects and plant over 300 trees in Old Allentown—bringing beauty, shade, and lasting environmental benefits to the neighborhood.

As Chair of the Shade Tree Commission, his influence extends even further, helping drive the planting of countless more trees across the city. His dedication hasn’t gone unnoticed—the Mayor even dubbed him “The Johnny Appleseed of Allentown.” 🌱
Chris, thank you for your vision, your commitment, and for helping our city grow greener every day. 🌿💚

Today, we’re celebrating the role of landscape architecture in shaping a more sustainable future—and the responsibility we carry to design with the earth, not just on it.

Here’s to creating places that give back more than they take. 🌍

Getting tree‑planting depth "just right" matters!

Too deep: root flare disappears.
Too high: structural roots exposed.
Just right: root flare visible at ground level—no mulch piled on the trunk.

Plant smart for healthy trees! 🌳

They shape the neighborhoods we grow up in, the parks we retreat to, the playgrounds we learn in, and the forests we explore. Our storyline may bend, change, even roam from time to time.

Yet, quietly and humbly trees are steadfast characters in the backdrop of our lives.

Trees support mental health, encourage physical activity, reduce heat and pollution, and create spaces where neighbors connect. From shaded sidewalks and cleaner air to calmer minds and stronger social ties, trees play a quiet but powerful role in how communities function and thrive.

When we invest in trees, we’re investing in healthier places for everyone—not just today, but for generations to come.

According to our 2025 Canopy Report, 90% of Americans say “trees are important to the health and well-being of communities.” And that belief spans far beyond environmentalism.

Project Spot Light!

A period-inspired Landscape Master Plan for a new home in Lower Saucon Township involving traditional hardscape design, materials, and methods. The plan involved formation of various spaces, gardens and partitions within the landscape using masonry walls, fences, and evergreen hedges. An integrated pool terrace with pavilion and pool house along with an outbuilding garage/office complete the overall plan.
