Good morning everyone!

We completed one of our standard privacy fences last week. One thing we do differently versus some other companies is to use 3 crossbars and a cedar top board. The 3 crossbars help ensure the structure remains strong for a long period of time. And helps limit warping. And our cedar top board helps protect the boards below it. We consider the top board to be somewhat sacrificial. Meaning this board will see more direct sun and rain than the rest of the boards. We also use a term calling it the "Umbrella Board". Once this board wears out it can simply be replaced.

And when building our gates we use metal framing to avoid issues down the road. The days of building a gate solely out of wood are over. You will never have to worry about a sagging or out of square gate again.

We just completed this half remodel in just 3 days start to finish. We removed the old window that was catching all of the shower water, including the antiquated tile. No more grout lines to maintain. Just a water tight wall system. Grant Hardy
