A tribute to the teen rooms over the years….

I love how unique each kid is. Things they love, things they don’t like …. They’re all special in their own way.

We left our baby at college today. It was so wonderful and awful all at once. Each soul and generation has a uniqueness that I love. As a parent, I’m so honored to see my daughter launched. “Like an arrow in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth.” Ps. 120:4

May God bless you and keep you, Kathryn. And to all the youth launched from their parents, may you be blessed. Go live out what God has for you ❤️

Check out the hidden cabinet in this beautiful powder room! We had to ensure the cutout was perfect for the artwork and the builder did a great job attaching the art to the hinges and protecting the wallpaper. Teamwork 🫶

A little behind the scenes…

I’m Sara, and my story begins in the Solomon Islands, a beautiful island nation in the South Pacific near Australia. I grew up in Naples, Florida, and later went to college in West Palm Beach.

The ocean has always felt like home. It has shaped the way I see beauty, find peace, and experience creativity.

When I was in design school, I was often told my work had a coastal influence. At the time, I didn’t quite understand it—I considered my style to be rooted in timeless, traditional design. Looking back, I realize that what naturally finds its way into my work isn’t just a style—it’s a feeling. The blues and greens of the sea, the organic textures, the light, and the sense of calm have always been part of who I am.

That connection to creation continues to inspire every space I design. My goal isn’t simply to create a “coastal” home, but to create homes that feel peaceful, grounded, and deeply connected to the beauty of the world around us. 💚
