Now that the holidays are over, I’m focusing on getting loose ends tied up for my business, including the website. I’m happy with how both the desktop and mobile versions came out. I do need to get emails created, including the initial email with a $10 coupon for whoever signs up for my Mailing list. Even if you don’t get a confirmation email from me right away, it goes into my database so I can share information with you. I have a goal to get introduction emails out by the end of the weekend with more to follow.

This is my winter garden, growing along nicely… 🌿🥬 I had started many of these from the thinnings from the beds at New Durham Public Library. Some others I started from seed, and I also stuck an alpine strawberry plant from my own garden into this grow tower. I bought this system shortly after we moved into our house last November, and it fits nicely in a tight space along the refrigerator. It’s fairly easy to use and will provide lettuce and greens for months to come!

Moving to a new home and sorting out the boxes and totes and things still in storage… I underestimated the amount of time and energy it takes to settle into a new place.😮

It was such a long time ago that I moved in with Jeff and we started our life together - 22 years. ❤️

We worked on our front yard in the last few days and installed two new garden boxes. We have two more to go and possibly a smaller one for rhubarb. We are doing edible landscaping throughout the whole front yard, and microclover in place of grass. I’m going for low maintenance, purposeful plantings. Asparagus, rhubarb, strawberries, elderberry, Nanking cherry, Aronia Berry, Honeyberry, raspberry, and blackberry. Sticking to basic crops to be able to can and freeze some of the bounty. Tomatoes, cucumbers, bush and pole beans, and beets! 🍅 Happy gardening!🌿🌸

It’s fall, y’all!🍁 Most of the flowers and decor available in fall include mums, asters, and grasses, flowering kale, ornamental peppers, and pumpkins. 🎃 There is also a limited supply of plants that work in smaller spaces like window boxes. I’ve had to get creative with using fall-blooming perennials (Black-eyed Susan’s, Sedum, Russian Sage), smaller mums, and even silk flowers. Real flowers and plants are nice, but silk flowers will last way longer into the cold weather than many other plants, so they make a great complement.

Jeff is so creative and talented… ❤️ He made this custom garden potting table for a family friend. Almost the whole thing is re-purposed with the exception of the bench surface and bottom slats.
