“Is it necessary to waterproof my shower?” Not all tile is porous, so some will answer no. HOWEVER, grout is sand that is glued together with cement allowing the water to be absorbed. The water has no where else to go, but to sit on the wood underneath causing it to rot. Here are a few examples of a bathroom remodel that was not waterproofed.

Multiple layers of unmatched metal panels were not doing this business any good! We came in and took it all off and replaced it with all the same panels and now they do not have any water leaks! WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!

This was just your basic metal building a customer bought for her forever home. They wanted to put a roof on it to look more like a home and not just a metal building.
