Every business has a story, and we’re proud to finally share ours!

A-1 Floor Covering has been part of the flooring industry in the Southwest since 1972. What began with a vision and a lot of hard work has grown into a family business serving Amarillo, the Texas Panhandle, and surrounding communities for decades.

In 1995, another important chapter began when Jimmy Sr. and Harriett retired, and their children — Mark, Kelly, and Jimmy Jr. — stepped into the day-to-day operations and continued the family business.

Today, the story continues with Mark Chancler, Jimmy Chancler, and Ryan Chancler as the current part owners of A-1 Floor Covering, following Kelly’s retirement. As the business continues into its next chapter, the same values A-1 was built on remain at the heart of everything we do: quality, hard work, honest service, and taking care of our customers.

We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who has trusted A-1 throughout the years and for everyone who has helped make this company what it is today.

And now, it’s time to introduce the faces behind the scenes! The people who help make A-1 what it is, day in and day out.

Can you feel that? Fall is just around the corner! 🍂 As the days get shorter, we start craving warmth and texture in our homes.

Trend Alert: We are seeing a huge shift toward warm, honey-toned woods and earth-tone luxury vinyl. These shades create the perfect cozy backdrop for pumpkin spice season. 🎃 Check out our latest samples for fall flooring trends 2026.
