Starting a porch remodel this week on an old house. What do you think of our plan?

Yes, you can reuse molding…if you are careful during demo and use the right tools and techniques to remove the fasteners.

Here’s how we do it.

Sometimes it makes sense to screw studs instead of nailing them. Here’s one example.

Note: We shot a bunch of videos before the dog attack and are just able to start posting again. Thank you so much for your patience and support while we have been working through this nightmare.

Mark is doing PT and we hope he will be able to pick up his tools again in the next few months. If you know Mark, you know this healing process is super frustrating... He likes to move fast!

I have been in shock and disbelief for the past week. Mark was attacked by a 120-pound Rottweiler at a friend’s home.

We were told he had a less than 1 percent chance of survival in that attack. Because of his instincts and ability to fight, he survived.

Mark is recovering but unable to work. A good friend set up a GoFundMe to help us get through this difficult time.

It still seems unbelievable, like a movie I would have never wanted to see.

Don’t fall victim to the un-reality of TV shows. Demo is easiest and safest when we take apart decks and any other project or space in reverse order of construction.
