20 Years Sober Today 🙏
On July 8, 2005, my life changed forever.
I was a lost soul — untrustworthy, broken, and on a path to death. My parents told me they loved me… but that I couldn’t stay in their home anymore because I scared them. That shook me.
Soon after, I heard a voice — twice — telling me, “If you keep living like this, you’re going to die.” I knew it was God.
I made one phone call to a friend in recovery, and she helped me get into Tarzana Treatment Center. I’ve been sober ever since.
I’ll never forget how I felt back then. That desperation still lives in me — and it keeps me grounded. Years later, I asked my dad why he never gave up on me. He said, “Because I always knew the good Chris was still in there.”
Today, I love my mom and dad more than anything. They’re my best friends.
To God, AA, and every one of you who’s walked this road with me — thank you.
We do recover. We can change.
And today, I hope I’m someone you can count on and trust.
20 YEARS 🙌❤️
