Anaheim residents can get free compost for gardens, yards and landscaping during a compost giveaway at Angel Stadium of Anaheim on Saturday, March 29.

The giveaway is from 7 to 10 a.m., or until we run out!

It all takes place near the Big A stadium parking lot. The event is rain or shine, so watch the weather and plan ahead.

Residents can get up to 60 gallons of fresh compost for gardens, potted plants, yard soil and ground cover.

Compost is made from plant waste and food scraps for nutrient-rich soil and is a natural fertilizer for plants, trees and gardens.

You'll want to enter from Douglass Road off Katella Avenue near ARTIC, with no Orangewood Avenue or State College Boulevard access.

You will need proof of Anaheim residency — driver’s license or utility bill.

Bring sturdy buckets or containers for holding heavy compost; no bags.

Compost bins are available for $35, cash or check only.

For more visit: Anaheim.net/Recycle or call (714) 765-6860.
