Post-Winter Damage Assessment: Winter leaves its mark on trees. Broken branches, split limbs, and storm damage don't always show up until spring growth starts. Now is the time to walk your property and get eyes on what the season left behind.
Damaged limbs left unaddressed can become a liability, especially over a roof, fence, or high-traffic area. Catching them early means we can perform a clean removal of the hazards before they fall, ensuring your property is left spotless, safe, and completely clear heading into summer.

Spring is when winter damage shows up. Trees that looked fine under snow may be dead, dying, or structurally compromised, and leafing out is when that becomes clear.
Removing a tree is a drastic and permanent decision. That's why an ISA Certified Arborist assesses the actual condition first. If removal is warranted, it gets recommended. If it's not, it doesn't.
PTS specializes in difficult removals with minimal impact on the surrounding landscape. ISA Certified. Licensed. Operating in Anchorage since 2007.

Windstorm brought a spruce down onto a house. The crew removed it with no additional damage, minimal roof impact from the initial fall. Precision matters on a job like this. When a tree comes down on a structure, how it comes off matters just as much.

Luckily no one was killed or injured but this is the kind of scenario that can go very bad very quick.

Please let us know if we can help keep you out of a very expensive and potentially deadly pickle by coming out and getting you a free estimate.

PLEASE DON'T TRY TO REMOVE TREES WITHOUT A PROFESSIONAL: This weekend's power outage triggered by an individual trying to clear trees from a powerline using an electrical lift reminds us to review the national safety guidelines for clearing.

Tree cutting and vegetation management are required to prevent contact between overhead conductors and trees, which can cause outages, fires, or other safety hazards. Only line-clearance trained arborists are permitted to work within 10 feet of energized lines. Unqualified workers or homeowners should never attempt to cut trees or remove branches.

If you have a question about a tree outside of the utility easement, submit a Danger Tree Request from our website or call
907-762-7227 and we can assess whether it is threatening the power line. For more information on our program go to https://www.chugachelectric.com/services/vegetation-management Thank you for keeping yourself and the community safe.
