I declare today" Bring your parents to a pot shop day"
This really was a step outside my comfort zone. My mom is a very conservative and religious person with a background in the medical field. I wanted her to have an open mind and try to understand what it is and what it isn't, there was alot of negative information that she was telling me, but with a new set of information and my own perspective I thought that a legal shop would help her understand whats going on with ma*****na in Anchorage.
If you are pro or anti pot, freemarket or legal it doesn't mater. What is important is we went to a legal shop and I had her look around and see what it was about, she spent some time with the budtender asking all kinds of questions. I like to think this helped evolve her ideas of cannabis in general. The experience was pleasant, the staff was nice and the information was good.
I dont expect everybody to have the same positive outcome, I would really like people to challenge those around you to at least evolve their view of Cannabis, she learned some of the medical properties as well as safety and addiction information.
I can proudly say. "I took my mom to the pot shop" And it was great to see somebody so out of their demographic in their shop.
I did it because I love her, and I hope this helps her understand me more.
